From the moment Zelda is set loose into the open-world of Hyrule, she will begin to encounter Heart Pieces almost immediately. And while most of these health-expanding items can be found without many problems, there are a few that can be tricky to collect, even early-on. This guide will cover one such item, explaining how to get the Heart Piece in Beach Cave.
How to Get the Beach Cave Heart Piece
Suthorn Beach Cave:
If you missed the Heart Piece when you originally passed through Beach Cave, you can return to it by using the fast-travel to Suthorn Village, then heading west. It is the cave you have to cross through to get from the beach area to Suthorn Village. If you are coming from the west, you’ll know you are entering the cave when you find the entrance blocked by several Sea Urchin enemies.
Boulder Echo:
To obtain the Heart Piece you’re after, it’s crucial that you secure the Boulder Echo. Although there might be other heavy objects that could perform the task, if you wish to acquire the Heart Piece as soon as possible, the Boulder is your optimal choice. Fortunately, its location won’t escape your notice; just remember to learn the Echo in the process.
For the first time stepping out of Hyrule Castle, you’ll find yourself descending into a substantial hole in the ground, which serves as an exit from the courtyard. This leads to a side-scrolling adventure with underwater segments. Along your journey, you’ll come across a large stone obstructing your path. To interact with this rock, move towards it and press the ZR button to acquire the Echo skill.
Simply Smashing:
At Beach Cave, you’ll encounter a lone Keese. Afterward, deeper within the cave, you’ll find a Heart Piece hidden inside a small room enclosed by wooden crates. It appears that you might need to push a Boulder from an elevated platform to shatter the crates, but initially, getting to this platform may prove challenging. With only three Echoes at your disposal, it seems like accessing the platform is impossible – until you spot a conspicuous rock wall right before you.
No need to fret if you passed by the scalable rock wall; many players have made the same mistake. The game doesn’t seem to provide any clue that the wall can be scaled. However, this is the very method to reach the upper platform. Here are the steps to gather the Heart Piece:
- Climb the rock wall to reach the higher platform
- Create a Boulder Echo at the edge of the platform and let it drop to smash a box – it will only smash one.
- Hold ZR to erase the Boulder, then drop another onto the next box.
- Repeat the process to smash the third box.
- The chamber is now accessible. Collect the Heart Piece.
