Super Mario Galaxy and Super Mario Galaxy 2 are both coming to the Nintendo Switch on Thursday, October 2, 2025. You’ll be able to buy them separately or as a combined package. Similar to other Nintendo-published games, they’re expected to be available for download and purchase at midnight local time. However, players on the West Coast (Pacific Time) will get a head start, as the games will unlock at 9 PM PT on October 1st, since the official release time is 12 AM Eastern Time on October 2nd.

You can buy the Super Mario Galaxy games separately for $39.99 each. But if you want both the original Super Mario Galaxy and its sequel, it’s more affordable to purchase the bundle, which includes both games for $69.99.

Super Mario Galaxy and Super Mario Galaxy 2 are coming to the original Switch. A complimentary update will also be released for the Switch 2, letting players enjoy the game in 4K when played on a TV and in 1080p when playing in handheld mode.
