Pokémon TCG Pocket is celebrating its first anniversary with a special release: the Mega Rising Pack! It looks like the celebration will be bigger than expected.
I was excited to hear about upcoming shares, better trading, and improved Wonder Picks, but now I’m *really* hyped! It turns out the next pack is all about Mega Evolutions – that’s awesome!
Here is everything we know about the next Pokémon TCG Pocket expansion, Mega Rising.
Do We Know When Pokémon TCG Pocket Mega Rising Releases?
Although Nintendo hasn’t officially announced it yet, the new Pokémon Trading Card Game expansion, Pocket Mega Rising, is currently expected to be released on October 30th. Updates for the game typically become available very early in the morning – around 2 AM Eastern Time in the United States.
What to Expect in Pokémon TCG Pocket Mega Rising
We don’t have all the details on the Mega Rising packs yet, but it’s safe to say they’ll focus a lot on Mega Evolutions.
The mobile game announced in August that mega evolutions would be added this fall. Currently, we know three mega-evolved Pokémon will definitely be included in the new Mega Rising packs: Mega Altaria EX, Mega Blaziken EX, and Mega Gyarados EX. These packs are themed around the three cover Pokémon and will contain over 200 new cards.
Mega Evolutions are powerful cards that can significantly increase a player’s strength during a battle. They evolve directly from a Pokémon’s previous form, giving it a substantial power boost. However, there’s a big risk: if your opponent defeats a Mega Evolved Pokémon, they win the battle immediately. So, using one requires careful planning and a strong strategy, as it’s a high-risk, high-reward move.
As a huge Pokémon fan, I’m so excited that Pokémon Legends: Z-A brought Mega Evolutions back to the main console games! It’s been a while since we’ve seen them since Pokémon X and Y on the 3DS. While Pokémon Go has had Mega Evolutions for a bit, it’s awesome to see Pokémon TCG Pocket joining in on the fun – it shows these powerful Pokémon are still really popular, and it won’t be the only mobile game where you can use them!
Pokémon TCG Pocket recently took down some artwork because of concerns it was copied from other sources. Plus, there’s a way to potentially get an extra card when you open a pack!
