Even though the developers haven’t officially announced the next Sims 4 update on social media, they did reveal the release date on the game’s news page.

Okay, so the first big Sims 4 update of 2026 is dropping on January 13th! If past updates are anything to go by, we can probably expect it to go live around 10 AM Pacific Time, or 1 PM Eastern. Just a heads up so you can plan your Sims day around it!

What to Expect From The Sims 4 Update

The team behind The Sims 4 has shared details about the upcoming patch. While this update won’t add any new free items to the game, it will address several important bugs that players have been experiencing for the last few months.

Players will be pleased to discover some previously hidden or missing items. While not entirely new content, these assets—including new hair colors, clothing styles, and face paint—will be seen for the first time, creating a fresh experience.

Many furniture items that were incorrectly tagged have now been correctly labeled, making them easier to locate and use. These items can also function as plants, contribute to an off-the-grid lifestyle, or be used by Sims of all ages.
