As a seasoned gamer with years of experience under my belt, I can confidently say that the quest to photograph critters in Neo has been an unexpected delight. From the neon-lit streets of Central City to the grime-filled corners of the Refinery, this cyberpunk world has certainly offered its fair share of challenges and thrills.
In the heart of Neo lies the bustling cyberpunk metropolis ruled by the corporation, Dreamcore – a place where neon lights glow bright against gritty streets and sassy robots are common folk. This is more than just a transit station on your journey away from Earth; it’s an entirely new world to explore once you’ve cleared immigration.
Upon your journey back to acquire a Warp Drive for your spacecraft, you’ll have the opportunity to thoroughly investigate the planet – specifically, its less savory aspects or hidden underworld.
Below, you’ll encounter diverse side-missions, such as street races and unsolved mysteries, similar to those found on the planet Erros. Additionally, an alien, who swears he’s completely innocent, requests your assistance in capturing some photos for him.
Meeting The Photographer
The photographer on Neo is the second of three quest-giving picture fanatics. You can find him in Central City – East near the street racing alley.
There’s no need to fret, he’s completely harmless and only eager to assist you. If you’re in need of some extra gold, completing his photography task would be a great way to earn it.
He asks you to photograph three critters which can be found while you’re exploring Neo.

Photographing A Gooblin
Despite being the first request, I found the Gooblin was the hardest of the three. This crafty critter hides in the rafters of Central City – West.
Adjust the display upward and keep an eye out for any activity. When you notice some action, quickly pull out Marty’s camera to take a photograph. You will identify the creature when a “??” box emerges within your camera viewfinder.
Return to the photographer for some gold and your next assignment.
Photographing A Slum Gunner
In the course of all three Rare Beast quests, The Slum Gunner is the unique entity you might face in battle. You can spot one only by advancing the primary storyline until Rosie instructs you to “visit the Refinery located to the east of the city“.
When traveling alongside Rosie, she’ll show you how to navigate the jump pad for ascending the Refinery. During our journey, you’ll encounter Slum Gunners safeguarding treasures on both the western and eastern walls of the surrounding area.
Be cautious as you approach the edges, as the Slum Gunners have a fast firing rate. It’s simple to fall into an ambush if you’re not keeping your guard up.
As a fan, I can’t stress enough the importance of employing Doug’s Scan skill during our encounters. This will allow us to activate the camera and snap a photo of the action. Once we’ve cleared the Refinery, be sure to stop by the photographer for one final request before we embark on our mission to retrieve the Warp Drive.
As I embark on the next thrilling chapter of our shared adventure, I can assure you that the narrative will grip us tightly for multiple missions in succession. To keep up with the unfolding events, it’s best to complete this current quest before we step onto the train together!
Photographing A MINI Bomber
Whew, a MINI Bomber? That sounds dangerous!
Don’t fret, the recent photo isn’t a test or riddle. Instead, just make your way to Central City’s store for items, then snap a shot with your camera.
In plain sight, just up front, you’ll find the MINI Bomber – it blends so well with the surroundings that it can be quite hard to spot.
After taking your final picture, bring it back to the photographer to get paid. All wrapped up!
