Where Should You Set Vox Relay Destination to in The Outer Worlds 2?

Near the end of the main story quest ‘The Saboteur of Paradise’ in The Outer Worlds 2, you’ll face a choice: what to do with the Vox Relay. Currently, it’s heading for Fairfield, and if you do nothing, it will crash there. You can, however, change its course to either Westport or send it into space. This guide will help you decide which option is best and detail the consequences of sending the relay to each of those three locations in The Outer Worlds 2.

Should You Choose to Send the Vox Relay to Fairfield, Westport, or Space in The Outer Worlds 2?

In The Outer Worlds 2, the best place to send the Vox Relay is into space. This prevents it from crashing into and destroying either Fairfield or Westport on Paradise Island.

This is the best choice because it ensures you can still visit vendors and interact with characters in both Fairfield and Westport, even after you finish the main quest and want to return to Paradise Island.

Saving Fairfield means everyone there will survive, which is always good. It also maintains your positive reputation with Auntie’s Choice, and keeps your companion, Inez, from leaving you. Protecting Westport, while not affecting your standing with the Protectorate, lets you revisit the town later if you choose.

Sending the Vox Relay into space lets you finish the main quest while avoiding negative consequences for Paradise Island and keeping Inez safe. To do this, you’ll need at least one Bypass Shunt and a Hacking skill level of four before using the Vox Secure Connection Interface.

If you can’t bypass security with a shunt or have a high enough ‘Hack’ skill, you’ll need to pick one of the two locations to send your package. While Fairfield has better resources and more opportunities for extra missions, I suggest sending it to Westport instead. It’s not the best choice, but it’s the next best thing.

You can also try hitting the object, but this requires the ‘Lucky’ trait. I haven’t tested what happens when you do, but I’ll share an update as soon as I have more information.
