When you first start your farm in Fields of Mistria and get to know the town, figuring out where to find the best tools is crucial. Mistria offers much more than just farming – to really enjoy this lovely coastal town and thrive, you’ll want to get a few essential items for your farm right away.
The Forge is a helpful tool in Fields of Mistria, and the recent update (0.15.0) lets you build one at your home base. Like the Auto Feeder, it’s a real time-saver, eliminating lots of running around to gather resources. If you’re wondering how to get a Forge and start using it, here’s a guide.
How to Unlock Forge in Fields of Mistria
The Placeable Forge is surprisingly easy to get in Field of Mistria’s Update 0.15.0. Unlike other tools like the Auto Feeder, you don’t need to reach a certain level or buy any upgrades first. It’s available right from the beginning of the game, making it really convenient for crafting items at home and fulfilling requests.
You can buy the Forge from the Carpenter’s Shop on the Eastern Road for 2,000 Tesserae. It works the same way as the Forge you’d find at the town Smithy. If you happen to lose it in your inventory, you can always buy another one – or as many as you need.
How to Use Forge in Fields of Mistria
After purchasing your Forge, simply return to your farm and choose where you want to put it. Like other crafting stations, you can place it either inside or outside your house, as long as there’s enough space. Unlike buildings like Barns or Coops, you don’t need to gather materials and build it from the ground up.
Once you’ve placed the Forge, open its menu to see all the tools and metal bars you can craft. Start by gathering the metal bars you’ll need – they come in different qualities, from Copper all the way up to Mistril.

If you want to relocate your Forge, you can break it down with a pickaxe. This will turn it back into an item in your inventory. Then, simply move to the desired new location and place it again as you originally did.
