Crimson Desert lets players get around in a lot of different ways! You can ride horses, dragons, and mechs, or even use a jetpack. Most of these cool mounts aren’t available right away – you’ll either need to progress through the main story or explore the world to unlock them.
Okay, so the jetpack in Crimson Desert is seriously easy to miss – you can actually beat the whole game without ever finding it! But trust me, you want to get one as soon as you can. It lets my character, Oongka, fly all over the map, and honestly, it just looks awesome.
Okay, so I was totally stuck trying to find a jetpack in Crimson Desert, and it’s harder than it looks! This is what I figured out – here’s a guide on how to finally unlock one for yourself.
How to Unlock a Jetpack in Crimson Desert

You won’t be able to unlock a jetpack in Crimson Desert until you reach Chapter 8. Once you do, the city of Pailune will open up, becoming a bustling hub with shops, quests, and characters to meet.
When Pailune is completely set up, you’ll start the Fire Breathing Pack faction quest. This quest requires you to locate Grimnir’s assistant on the southern edge of Pailune city.
If you approach Grimnir’s assistant, he’ll give you a note. This note, called “Letter from Grimnir,” contains instructions for building a Kuku Rocket Pack – the game’s jetpack.
To get the Blueprint for the Kuku Rocket Pack, you must look at the piece of paper. If you don’t, you won’t be able to craft it.
How to Craft a Kuku Rocket Pack
You can find instructions for building the Kuku Rocket Pack in the Knowledge tab under Kuku Pot. The guide will tell you that you need to use the Mysterious Iron Pot at the Kilnden Workshop to craft it. See the image below to find the workshop’s location.
To build a Kuku Rocket Pack, you’ll need these materials: 1 Kuku Pack, 5 Copper Ore, 10 Iron Ore, 5 Cogwheels, and 3 Small Batteries.
Luckily, most of these items are fairly easy to get. You can buy Iron Ore and Copper Ore from traveling merchants and shops, or you can find and mine them from ore deposits all over the game world.

You can get Cogwheels and Small Batteries by defeating enemies in the Abyss, opening treasure chests, or buying them from traveling merchants.
You can also make the Kuku Pack at the Kilnden Workshop using one Kuku Pot and one Peddler’s Pack. Once you have these items, talk to Grimnir at the workshop to create the Kuku Rocket Pack, which will let Oongka fly.
The Kuku Rocket Pack functions much like Kliff’s gliding – it uses stamina, and will only work as long as you have stamina remaining. To help Oongka fly for extended durations, focus on increasing his stamina through Abyss Artifacts.
