In Grounded 2, certain materials exhibit greater natural strength and durability compared to others. Even though it’s always advantageous to have some protective gear over none, your goal should be to find the most robust materials available for creating stronger equipment. This will enable you to confront the tougher adversaries that appear later in the game, whether you’re playing solo or with friends.
In the sequel, acorns are reintroduced as a versatile resource, which you can utilize to create robust armor and other practical items. They may not be readily available initially, but since you’re free to explore any part of the park, finding them becomes possible with the right knowledge.
Where to get Acorns in Grounded 2
In a brand new world you’re exploring, it might not be simple to access the harder-to-grasp acorns located high up. However, as soon as you start your adventure, you can locate two accessible acorns by scouting the region above the first Ranger Station that appears in the storyline. To do so, stand with the upper cave entrance of the station facing you, then venture into the grass to your right side where the two acorns are hidden. Keep in mind that these acorns are protected by small spiders, but they are not too strong and can be dealt with. You may also head south to find more acorns under a tree there, though this one produces fewer acorns compared to the other tree in the park.
You’ll need the Omni-Tool Hammer 1 upgrade to be able to break acorns.
In the Northern Pine Hill region, it’s the ideal spot for gathering acorns, but keep in mind that it’s more challenging to navigate at the beginning of the game. Orb Weaver Jr spiders populate this area and can quickly overpower you if you don’t have protective armor and a powerful weapon, regardless of the game’s difficulty level. However, these creatures are outrunnable by sprinting. You’ll eventually need to slow down to pick up the acorns you come across while in their vicinity. If you stay under any tree, you’ll discover a plentiful supply of fallen acorns on the ground. Acorns regenerate after a few game days, so make sure to visit each tree every three days or so to gather as many acorns as your inventory can hold.
What are Acorns Used for in Grounded 2?
Acorns can be broken to drop the following items:
- Acorn Shells
- Acorn Tops
- Acorn Bits
In the process of constructing the Acorn Armor set, Acorn Shells play a crucial role in creating both the chest piece and the legs, while Acorn tops are essential for crafting the Acorn Face Mask. The Sturdy Shell is another item made from Acorn Shells, serving as a trinket that enhances your resistance to Friendly Fire and Major Threats. Acorn parts can be utilized for various purposes like chests, catchers for sap, and fences, but it’s strongly advised to prioritize using your initial supply of acorns to craft strong armor.
