Where to Find Beginner and Intermediate Manual Pages in Dying Light The Beast

Weapons you make yourself are very powerful in *Dying Light: The Beast*, but you need to find Manual Pages to improve their designs. Luckily, you can find the easier Manual Pages – those for beginners and intermediate players – fairly early in the game if you know where to search.

While upgrading blueprints was possible in earlier *Dying Light* games, *The Beast* introduces a new item called Manual Pages. You’ll still need regular crafting materials, but Manual Pages are the most important thing to collect, as they’re quite rare. Here’s a guide to the best locations for finding Beginner and Intermediate Manual Pages in *Dying Light: The Beast*.

Where to Find Manual Pages in Dying Light: The Beast

You can find Manual Pages by completing quests or searching the Dark Zones in *Dying Light: The Beast*. Side quests are a great way to get them, especially early in the game, and usually reward you with one or two pages depending on how hard they are.

After finishing the side missions, you’ll need to search for Manual Pages hidden in the dangerous Dark Zones located within Castor Woods. These areas, which return from previous *Dying Light* games, are buildings overrun with zombies. You can enter them whenever you want, but they’re less crowded with infected at night.

No matter when you enter the Dark Zones, you’ll encounter zombies wearing white straitjackets. These zombies will scream if they see you, potentially alerting all the other infected in the area. Try to eliminate them quietly – a stealth attack from behind works best – so you can safely search for loot without causing a commotion.

When you look at the map icons for each Dark Zone, you’ll see what kind of loot is available there. If you see a book icon with a wrench and hammer, it means you can find Manual Pages inside. These aren’t super common, and you’ll typically only find one, usually hidden behind a locked door at the end of the Dark Zone.

Dark Zones frequently reset their loot, meaning you can always return later to find more Manual Pages. Since you’ll need a lot of both Beginner and Intermediate Manual Pages to improve your blueprints in *Dying Light: The Beast*, it’s a good idea to complete side quests and explore Dark Zones early in the game to gather them.
