In PEAK, some badges can be snagged with a dash of ease and a sprinkle of good fortune, while others require a touch more persistence. One such badge in PEAK’s Mesa update is the Needlepoint Badge, which might seem straightforward at first – all you need to do is get pricked by cacti!
Similarly to many badges in PEAK, it’s not as simple as merely sticking yourself on thorny plants to achieve it. Here’s a breakdown of the steps required to earn the Needlepoint Badge in PEAK.
The Needlepoint Badge in PEAK isn’t just about getting pricked by sharp plants. This guide explains exactly what you need to do to earn this achievement.
Or for a more conversational tone:
Just like many other badges in PEAK, getting the Needlepoint Badge isn’t as easy as sticking yourself on thorny plants. Here’s a breakdown of the steps required to get it.
How To Get the Needlepoint Badge in PEAK
The aim of the Needlepoint Badge is to “have numerous cacti stick to you,” but in truth, you must also “detach them from your body” to accomplish the task. Consequently, to earn the Needlepoint Badge, follow these steps:
1. Gather cacti with needle-like spines.
2. Carefully attach them to yourself.
3. Safely remove them afterwards.
4. Demonstrate your skill in this process.
5. Repeat as necessary until assessed and found competent.
6. Submit your completed project for evaluation.
7. If successful, you will receive the Needlepoint Badge.
- Approach a small cactus ball in the Mesa biome.
- Let it stick to your character.
- Keep going until you have five cactuses stuck to you.
Instead, minimize getting hurt excessively by numerous cacti simultaneously. Although they aren’t immediately lethal, neglecting your health might lead to an abrupt return to respawn.

Immediately upon sticking five cacti to yourself in the game, you’ll earn the Needlepoint Badge. This achievement will still unlock even if your gaming session ends or your character dies, as long as you’ve completed the primary goal. If you’re playing PEAK with companions, they can assist in pulling off the cacti, thereby simplifying the process for you.
Instead of plucking off cacti immediately when they prick, it’s wiser to wait until a few of them cling simultaneously. To receive the Badge, at least five should be adhered to me concurrently.
Where To Find Cactuses in PEAK

The Needlepoint Badge can exclusively be obtained within the Mesa region, a sandy, desert-like area introduced during the latest PEAK update. While venturing through the Mesa region, you’ll encounter cacti of different sizes, but it’s the tiny prickly pear fruits that are crucial for earning the badge.
In the vast Mesa biome, the cacti are inconspicuous among the sand and may easily go unnoticed during exploration. Approach one closely, though, and it will adhere automatically to your character. The spines remain lodged until you deliberately extract them, so don’t fret about missing the encounter.
After completing the Needlepoint Badge, consider taking on a new challenge – the Aeronautics Badge, which is introduced as part of PEAK’s Mesa Update.
