Where to Find Calcium in StarRupture—Calcium Ore Location, Explained

Even though it’s just launched in early access, StarRupture already offers a lot to do, and you’ll quickly find yourself rushing around trying to find Calcium.

In StarRupture, collecting calcium is an important task – you’ll need a lot of it to send back to Earth. If you’ve mostly stayed near your base, you probably haven’t found much yet.

TopMob provides everything you need to know about finding Calcium, plus advice on building the perfect mining setup.

How to Get Calcium in StarRupture

While small amounts of calcium can be found in meteorites, most is obtained by mining calcium deposits, much like how we get large quantities of resources like tungsten and titanium.

You can easily find the starting materials near where you began the game and probably built your first base. However, Calcium Deposits are located farther away: one is north of the starting area, and the other is directly to the east.

These areas are easy to find on a map, appearing as large, sandy regions. Because they’re quite far away, it’s a good idea to establish a second base dedicated to mining Calcium.

You’ll also need to collect Calcium eventually to unlock the map, but don’t worry about that right now. Focus on gathering the resources to build a new base at the place you’re heading.

How to Create a Calcium Mining Base in StarRupture

In StarRupture, setting up a second base specifically for mining Calcium is a smart move. The mining areas are far away, so you’ll need plenty of food and water to make the journey.

Since you can’t fast travel, it’s easy to get stuck at a Calcium deposit without the supplies needed to get back. Setting up a small base nearby is a good idea. This gives you a safe spot at the deposit and makes it easier to plan your return to your main base.

To set up a secondary base, here’s a handy to-do list to ensure you have everything you need.

  1. Build a Base Core near the Calcium deposit.
  2. Place a couple of Power Generators to ensure stable production.
  3. Build an Ore Excavator on the deposit.
  4. Connect rails from the Ore Excavator to other required constructs like a Smelter, Fabricator, and Orbital Cargo Launcher.
  5. Set up a small Base Habitat so you have a safe area, and ensure there’s a Storage Box with emergency materials.

After the initial setup, the operation can grow as needed. It’s also a good idea to stock both locations with plenty of food, water, and any other essential supplies.
