In the game Hytale, Essences of the Void are magical items players use for crafting. These purple energy drops are relatively common, but they only appear when defeating certain enemies. While it’s not difficult to collect a good amount of them, players who don’t play often might be missing out on opportunities to find more.
To get Essence of the Void in Hytale, you’ll need to prepare for battle. Make sure you have good armor and plenty of healing items, because you’ll be fighting for a while!
Hytale Essence of the Void Drop Locations
Essences of the Void are dropped by Void creatures that spawn at night. These creatures are usually bisected, ghoul-like monsters that attack up close with their claws. Less commonly, you’ll find bigger Void monsters that look like Beholders – floating eyeballs with tentacles that shoot projectiles. If you plan on being out at night, it’s best to bring a bow, and an Iron tier or better bow is recommended.
So, when I’m taking down those creepy Void creatures, they always drop something called Essence of the Void – it varies how much you get, though. And the big eyeball guys? They sometimes drop Voidhearts, which are super important later on. Even though I’m pretty new to Hytale and won’t be able to make Mithril gear for a while, I’ve started collecting Voidhearts whenever I see them, just in case! It’s probably a good idea for anyone starting out to do the same.
Void monsters are usually found on the surface, so it’s best to stay above ground if you want to hunt them. Luckily, they spawn often and in many different places. After defeating a group, try moving to a new area to find more quickly.
Iron Hand Crossbows are great for quickly dealing a lot of damage to enemies. We suggest using one alongside a standard bow to efficiently eliminate tough opponents with a lot of health.
What are Essences of the Void For?
Currently, Essences of the Void are mainly used to make Mithril armor – the best gear available in the early access version of the game. You’ll only need these essences for the armor itself; Mithril weapons require Voidhearts instead, and crafting Mithril tools only needs Mithril Ingots and Storm Leather.
Make sure to record Memories of Void monsters at the Forgotten Temple for additional rewards.
