As someone who’s spent countless hours exploring Hyrule and its many mysteries, I must say that The Legend of Zelda: Echoes of Wisdom has truly outdone itself with its intricate and engaging Heart Pieces hidden throughout Faron Wetlands.
Heart Pieces and Heart Containers are some of the most important items in the entire history of The Legend of Zelda. Finding these coveted items is deeply ingrained in the series’ DNA. Because of this, there was never any doubt that Zelda: Echoes of Wisdom would continue the long-standing ‘classic Zelda-game’ tradition of collecting four Heart Pieces to earn a new Heart Container. This guide will show players where to find all 40 Heart Pieces in Echoes of Wisdom.
Heart Pieces and Heart Containers in Echoes of Wisdom, Explained
In “The Legend of Zelda: Echoes of Wisdom,” there are a total of 40 Heart Pieces. By collecting these pieces through exploration, side-quests, and minigames, you can obtain up to 10 Heart Containers. Zelda gains 7 Heart Containers by conquering the seven main dungeons in “Echoes of Wisdom.” Initially, she starts with 3 containers, so her maximum health level is capped at a total of 20 Heart Containers.
As a gamer, I simply gather four Heart Pieces, and magically, a new Heart Container appears without me having to do anything extra. To keep track of my current Heart Pieces, I just need to take a peek at the status screen.
All Heart Pieces in the Suthorn Region – Echoes of Wisdom
Five significant locations known as the ‘Heart Pieces’ can be found in the expansive Suthorn Region. These include the serene Suthorn Beach, the lush Suthorn Forest, and the bustling Suthorn Village Marketplace.
1. Suthorn Village Shop Heart Piece:
- One of the first Heart Pieces players are likely to encounter. It can be purchased from the shop for 80 Rupees.
2. Suthorn Beach Heart Piece:
- After escaping Hyrule Castle at the very beginning of the game, you’ll have to cross Suthorn Beach on your path to Suthorn Village. There is a section where ou have to make your way up several rocky islands to reach Beach Cave. Here, if you head to the southwestern section of the cove, you’ll find a Heart Piece on a small rock ledge.
3. Beach Cave Heart Piece:
- After Suthorn Beach, you’ll need to cross through Beach Cave to reach Suthorn Village. In the cave, you’ll see a Heart Piece in a blocked-off chamber. Use the rock wall to climb to the upper platform, then drop Boulder Echos onto the boxes that are blocking the entrance to the chamber.
4. Suthorn Prairie Heart Piece:
- In the Suthorn Prairie, north of Suthorn Village, you’ll encounter a section with nine pillars that look like they are from ancient ruins. There will be a heart piece on the central pillar. Use Old-Beds stacked up to reach the pillar. Use the trees on the eastern side of the pillars as a stepping stone to reach the top of the pillars, then use Old-Beds to reach the center.
5. Suthorn Forest Cave Heart Piece:
- In the cave east of Suthorn Village, you’ll notice the Heart Piece on a high ledge above the entrance area. Head through the cave, and you’ll be able to get the piece before you leave the cave.
All Heart Pieces in Central Hyrule – Echoes of Wisdom
In the heart of Hyrule lies a total of twelve significant artifacts, often referred to as Heart Pieces. This expansive region encompasses key locations such as Hyrule Castle and its adjacent town, along with open fields, a ranch, and various neighboring territories.
6. An Out There Zol Heart Piece
- This Heart Piece is given as a reward for completing “An Out There Zol.” This side quest is the follow-up to “A Curious Child.” You must complete the first quest, and the “Still MIssing” main quest to unlock “An Out There Zol.” This quest will also require you to have access to Echoes of Wisdom‘s Automaton crafting mechanic at Dampé Studio. Craft the Gizmol at Dampé Studio, then bring it to the child in Hyrule Castle Town to collect this Heart Piece.
7. Hyrule Ranch Flag Course Heart Piece:
- Once you have unlocked Zelda’s Horse in “Impa’s Gift,” you can visit Hyrule Ranch with the horse to access the flag course. You must pass the Medium level course to collect this Heart Piece.
8 & 9: Slumber Dojo Heart Pieces
- Visit the Slumber Dojo in Kakariko Village to access a special minigame that allows Zelda to take on special combat scenarios in a dream state. There are 15 total challenges at the Slumber Dojo, but they are not available all at once. You will unlock challenges as you progress through the main story. You will receive a Heart Piece after completing the second and eleventh challenges at the Slumber Dojo.
10. Kakariko Village Acorn Gathering Heart Piece
- While there are several Acorn Gathering locations in Echoes of Wisdom, only one offers a Heart Piece: Kakariko Village. You will find this Acorn gathering location northeast of Kakariko Village, among the leveled terraces and trees. To get the Heart Piece, you must collect the acorns in 20 seconds or less, earning a bonus reward for speed.
11. Let’s Play a Game Eastern Temple Heart Piece:
- To the east of Lake Hylia, you will encounter a large structure called the Eastern Temple. When you approach the entrance, there will be an NPC with a quest marker over his head. Speak to him to begin the “Let’s Play a Game” side-quest. Make your way through the Eastern Temple until you reach Smog, the temple’s final boss. Smog will drop a Heart Piece upon defeat.
12. Northeastern Hyrule Field Heart Piece:
- In the northeastern corner of Hyrule Field, to the west of Hyrule Castle, you’ll find a series of pilars among ancient ruins. The Heart Piece is found on the northeastern pillar. You can use any number of Echoes to reach the piece, but we found Old-Bed’s work best during the early-game.
13. Hyrule Field Tree Stump Heart Piece
- From Hyrule Ranch, head southeast into the circle of green squares that is clearly visible on the map. In the center of the circle, you will find a Heart Piece on a tree stump.
14. Large Boulder Heart Piece:
- If you head west from Kakariko village, you’ll encounter a large boulder tucked away into a rocky alcove. Using Bind to move the large boulder will reveal a Heart Piece directly underneath.
15. Western Cave Heart Piece:
- If you head west from the large boulder Heart Piece (#14), you’ll find a cave almost immediately. Heading into the cave, you’ll see a Heart Piece behind two boulders in a very narrow passage. While you can use Bind to move the boulders, there is a much easier way to get this piece if you have the Holmill Echo. Just above the entrance to the cave, you’ll see a small patch of bare dirt. Summon the Holmill at that spot, and they will dig a hole that you can fall in, landing directly behind the Heart Piece.
16. Western Pond Heart Piece:
- If you look at the map on the western side of Hyrule Ranch, you’ll see a small pond with some rocky islands just before the far-west border where it turns brown. There is a Heart Piece on the small island in this pond.
17. Outside Hyrule Castle Heart Piece:
- If you return to Hyrule Castle, you’ll find a Heart Piece on the small piece of land on the northeastern side of the wall that surrounds the castle. You can approach from the northern side of the river, then swim across to reach the Heart Piece.
18. Eternal Forest Border Cave Heart Piece:
- The final Heart Piece in Central Hyrule can be found in a small cave along the southwestern border of Hyrule Field and the Eternal Forest. If you follow the border east from Kakariko Village, you shouldn’t miss the cave. Once inside, you’ll notice that the Heart Piece cannot be collected from within the cave. Instead, you’ll have to head to the ledge above the entrance, where you’ll find a bare patch of dirt. Use a Holmill Echo to dig a hole, then fall into it. You will drop directly into the chamber containing the Heart Piece.
All Heart Pieces in Jabul Waters – Echoes of Wisdom
In Jabul Waters, a vast region encompassing both river and sea Zora, there are five essential artifacts known as Heart Pieces. Let’s begin our tour from the southern part and head towards the north.
19. The Wrecked Ship Heart Piece
- Like the Eastern Temple, the Wrecked Ship is a self-contained mini-dungeon. To get inside, you’ll need to make your way on deck, then use Bind to pull the rear hatch open. This leads to a multi-chamber dungeon, culminating in a boss fight with an unnamed (not displayed, at least) miniboss. Defeating this miniboss results will earn Zelda a single Heart Piece.
20. Zora Cove Cave Heart Piece
- Just north of the Wrecked Ship, you’ll find a cave in the rock wall that separates Zora Cove from the rest of Hyrule. At the end of the cave, you’ll come to a chamber with multiple lit braziers. Use a Hydrozol (or any other water-or-ice-based Echo to put out the flames). This will unlock the gate and lead to the final chamber, where a Heart Piece is waiting.
21. Eastern Zora Cove Underwater Heart Piece
- For this Heart Piece, you have to make your way to the eastern reaches of Zora Cove, just to the southwest of the small island where you’ll find the Stamp Rally. At the point marked on the map, you’ll see a cracked rock on the sea floor. Use a Bombfish, or a traditional bomb, to destroy the cracked floor. This will reveal a Heart Piece waiting in the small cavity on the ocean floor.
22. Outside Lord Jabu-Jabu’s Den Heart Piece
- After you clear the rift from Lord Jabu-Jabu’s den, you’ll find that a Heart Piece becomes available on the pillar standing on the right side of the entrance. You can use Water Blocks to come right out of the water and swim easily to the top to collect the Heart Piece.
23. Northern Waterfall Pool Heart Piece
- From River Zora Village, make your way to the northern border of the game world. As you walk along the wall, you’ll come to a waterfall with a large pool above it. A Heart Piece can be found at the bottom of the pool. You can use Water Blocks to make your way to the top of the waterfall, then jump in the pond to grab the Heart Piece.
All Heart Pieces in Gerudo Desert – Echoes of Wisdom

If you are struggling to get all 70, make sure you use the Dancing Outfit, which is the reward for collecting 60 mangoes in the Ultimate Seed challenge. It will make your spinning attacks have greater range.
25. Wild Sandstorms Heart Piece
- To collect this Heart Piece, you must complete the “Wild Sandstorms” side-quest. This quest can be somewhat tricky to find, so follow these steps:
- First, defeat both Lanmola in the Gerudo Desert. These massive worm-like enemies are found only in sand storms. When in a sandstorm, look for sand swirling up from the ground, and you’ll know you’ve found a Lanmola.
- Once both Lanmola are defeated, head to Gerudo Palace. When you go inside, do not go up the main stairs. Instead, go through the left exit into the guard’s training grounds. There will be a guard there who will begin the quest. There is one more Lanmola that must be defeated.
- This Lanmola can be found to the east of the Oasis, in a sandstorm.
- Defeating the final Lanmola will earn you a Heart Piece.
- Return to the guards to get the Golden Sash from Lady Facette.
26. Gerudo Town Secret Cave Heart Piece
- Inside Gerudo Town, head to the large brick wall that is directly behind the palace. The best place to go is to the right of the palace entrance. From there, use Water Blocks to reach the top of the brick structure. On top, you will find a secret opening. Inside the cave, make your way to the beneath the falling platforms until you reach a section blocked by boxes. You’ll need to use Bind to pull one of the falling platforms over to the section with boxes, then let the platform crush the boxes. Next, you’ll see a section blocked by a large boulder. Use Bind while riding the platform to lift the large boulder out of the way. This will clear a path for you to reach the Heart Piece.
27. Southwest Gerudo Desert Heart Piece
- Head to the southwest corner of the Gerudo Desert. There you will find several piles of sand that can be blown away using the Wind Cannon Echo. At the point marked on the map, you will find a Heart Piece hidden under a pile of sand.
28. Northern Gerudo Desert Heart Piece
- Head directly north from the Oasis to find a large section of quicksand. The Heart Piece will be on a rock island in the center of the quicksand. If you have the Gerudo Sandals, use them to make traversing the quicksand a non issue.
All Heart Pieces in Eldin Volcano – Echoes of Wisdom
There are four Heart Pieces in Echoes of Wisdom‘s Eldin Volcano region.
29. A Mountainous Mystery Heart Piece:
- To collect this Heart Piece, you’ll first have to complete the Eldin Temple, and clear the main rift in the Eldin Volcano region. Once that is done, you’ll want to head to the Lizalfos Burrow and make your way to the ledge above it. There, you’ll find a secret cave that leads to the mountain’s summit. Inside the cave you’ll find Darston, the Goron leader. Speaking to him will begin “A Mountainous Mystery.” Head into the cave and make your way to the main chamber, where you’ll find a difficult boss that appears to be a flame version of the Talos. Defeating the enemy will earn you a Heart Piece.
30. Lava Lake Heart Piece:
- This Heart Piece is found on a small rock island that sits in the lava lake surrounding the Lizalfos Burrow.
31. Skinny Ledge Heart Piece:
- There is a skinny stretch of land that separates the area around Lizalfoes Burrow from the area to the west. You will arrive at the western side of the ledge first, where you’ll see a Heart Piece sitting at the southern tip. Use Water Blocks to easily reach the platform, and collect the Heart Piece.
32. Southwestern Drop Heart Piece:
- To get this Heart Piece, make your way west from the main Fast-Travel waypoint near Goron City. Following the main path, you’ll have to drop to a lower level about halfway to the western edge. Once you reach the edge, look down the cliff, and you’ll see a Heart Piece on a small ledge below. Zelda can safely drop to the ledge and collect the region’s final Heart Piece.

- In the western section of Faron Wetlands, you’ll find a cave in the wall of a large ledge. This cave is found north of Heart Lake, and if you walk north from that location, you’ll encounter the cave along the main path. When you enter the cave, you’ll see the Heart Piece on the right in a small chamber, guarded by an Armos. You cannot reach it yet. Make your way through the cave until you reach a section with multiple Needleflies above the water line. This is where you want to use Water Blocks to make your way out of the water and up the ledge. This will take you to the Armos, which you can defeat by using Bind to turn it around, then attacking its back. The Heart Piece will now be available to you.
38. Pitch-Black Cave Heart Piece
- If you head south into the central section of Faron Wetlands, you’ll see a river that makes a slight L-shape into a wall. At the section that goes into the wall, you’ll find a cave entrance on the north shore of the river. Enter the cave and clear the first chamber. When you enter the second chamber, know that there is a chamber to the right where the Heart Piece is found. Make your way through the second chamber, then head right into the third. Make your way south into the third chamber, and you’ll see the Heart Piece on the ledge to the left. You’ll have to cross the channel to reach the Heart Piece, but this is not difficult with Water Blocks or Clouds.
39. Deku Scrub Clink Heart Piece
- As you make your escape from the Deku Scrub jail, you’ll enter a chamber with three trees perfectly lined up against a northern wall. Using Bind, move these trees to reveal a hidden chamber. Inside, you’ll find multiple golden Deku Scrub statues with a Heart Piece on top. Use Bind to move the objects in the room so you can climb up and grab the Heart Piece.
