Where to Find Ferrium Ore in Arknights Endfield

Ferrium Ore is a key resource in Arknights Endfield, especially when you’re starting out. You’ll need it to create blue-rarity Gear, which significantly boosts your Operators’ power early in the game. While Ferrium isn’t too difficult to find, many players will eventually need to craft equipment using it, even if they’re not actively finding more. This guide will quickly show you where to get Ferrium in the early stages of Endfield.

Endfield Ferrium Locations

You can find Ferrium very early in the game near the Core AIC Area in Valley IV. From the AIC, go east and follow the road up to the upper plateau. The Ferrium field is close to a teleportation point up there.

A single Ferrium deposit won’t provide enough resources, so you’ll need to head to the Originium Science Park to find more. This area has at least three Ferrium Ore fields – possibly even more – with the first one located right by the road near the park’s entrance. To reach the Originium Science Park and all the marked Ferrium Ore fields, you’ll need to progress through the Act 1 storyline until you receive the quest to visit the science park.

How to Mine Ferrium Ore in Endfield

Ferrium can’t be mined with standard automated miners. You’ll need an Electric Mining Rig Mk. II to get it. This rig is unlocked by reaching the Mining III node in the AIC Index menu – that’s where you unlock factory upgrades. Keep in mind you’ll need to play through the story a bit before you can unlock those advanced AIC Index options.

To begin automatically collecting resources in Endfield, you’ll need to build and connect Power Relays to extend your power network throughout the area.

To make an Electric Mining Rig Mk. II, you’ll need:

  • 1 Portable Originium Rig (requires 5 Origocrusts)
  • 10 Ferrium Parts

Okay, so getting Ferrium isn’t automatic yet – I still have to mine it myself and haul it over to a Refining and Fitting Unit. This new auto-miner is better, giving me a little more ore, but it drinks power – about 5 extra units, actually. If I’m thinking of swapping out all my old miners for these Mk. II versions, I definitely need to boost my power capacity and generation in Endfield first, or I’ll be in trouble!
