Where to Find Helium in StarRupture

In the game StarRupture, Helium-3 (often just called Helium) is a resource you’ll need to collect from Arcadia-7 to improve your standing with the corporations. Unlike resources like Titanium and Wolfram, Helium requires a special extractor, making it harder to obtain in large quantities. This guide will show you how to find Helium and unlock the necessary extractor, helping you fulfill those corporate requests.

How to Get Helium-3 in StarRupture

You can get Helium in a few ways: by collecting large meteorites, gathering smaller pink or purple rocks, or using a Helium Extractor on surface vents. I’ll explain each method in more detail below.

Harvesting Large Meteorites for Helium-3

Okay, so in StarRupture, when I’m mining those big meteorites for hearts, I’ve noticed they sometimes have these pink or purple spots. If I aim my harvester right at those patches, I actually get a little bit of Helium! It’s a nice little bonus while I’m collecting resources.

Okay, so this way of earning stuff is fine for picking up a few things here and there, but it’s totally useless when those big corporate orders come rolling in. I can’t even begin to fill them with this method – it just doesn’t scale.

Finding Small Purple Rocks for Helium

You can also find small amounts of Helium by searching for small, meteorite-like rocks scattered around the game world. These rocks come in different colors – white, silver, and bronze are common. If you’re fortunate, you might discover pink or purple rocks that are actually releasing gas.

Use your harvester on these, and you can get a small amount of Helium-3 from them.

Using an Extractor on Helium Deposits

The most efficient way to collect Helium is by using a Helium extractor on a large gas vent on the planet’s surface. You can find the closest and most accessible vent east of your base, as shown in the map screenshot below.

Helium is easy to find: look for large, bright pink areas on the planet’s surface where gas is venting. Once you’ve discovered a Helium deposit, it will be clearly marked as a pink area on your map.

This area can be dangerous for new players. There are several enemies around, some of whom attack from afar with poisonous green projectiles. Be sure to bring enough weapons and ammunition to defend yourself.

Okay, so you’ve made it here – awesome! Now you’re gonna need a Helium Extractor. To unlock it, you’ve gotta level up with the Slenian Corporation to level 6. It’s like all the extractors, though – just plop it right on top of the Helium deposit and make sure it’s powered up. Once it’s running, it’ll start pulling Helium out of the deposit, which means I can finally finish those corporate requests!
