Where To Find Kelp in Towers of Aghasba

As a seasoned survivor and a dedicated player of Towers of Aghasba, I can attest to the importance of understanding how to gather resources effectively, especially ones as versatile as Kelp. This underwater plant has been my lifesaver (literally) numerous times during my perilous journeys across the vast oceans of this intriguing world.

In the game Towers of Aghasba, which is a survival crafting title, an abundance of various materials awaits players as they strive to rejuvenate the landscape. These gatherable resources each have unique functions and will be required at different stages, making it essential to remember where and how you can obtain specific items.

One such resource that can come in handy is Kelp, as the underwater plant can take on a number of roles throughout your playthrough. Because of this, developing a knowledge of how to get Kelp in Towers of Aghasba can be crucial to your survival.

How To Get Kelp in Towers of Aghasba

Kelp is a pretty useful resource, as you can feed it to yourself, some animals, and even use it to complete some build guides, especially those involving Enchanted Dung. While it is useful, it can be a challenge to collect the material in great amounts. That’s because, until you repair the Lutoro Bridge to the mainland, you’ll only be able to collect it by going for a swim.

There are two main ways to collect Kelp:

  • By harvesting ocean plants, especially Floating Trees
  • By harvesting Salt Ferns in Tropical Climates

While the act of harvesting is relatively simple, the endurance mechanics in the game can make collecting Kelp underwater a little tedious. It is good to bear in mind that your stamina will only replenish when on the shore, not when you are swimming above the surface. If you’re not careful with your stamina bar, you can very easily find yourself drowned and having to start again from your nearest village.

How To Harvest Floating Trees

Finding suitable kelp can be quite a challenge due to the vastness of the oceans you traverse and the limited time you have. However, identifying the primary source of kelp is relatively straightforward, which helps in managing your energy levels and gathering resources simultaneously, making the task less daunting.

As the name implies, Floating Trees are like their land-based counterparts but grow rooted in the ocean floor. They stand tall and can be recognized from afar due to their sparse surroundings. To gather them, simply navigate towards these marine plants and press the designated button to collect Kelp.

How To Harvest Salt Ferns

In my gaming adventure so far, I’ve learned that before I can secure Salt Ferns, I must first traverse the Lutoro Bridge. Even after that, it won’t be a walk in the park. To obtain Salt Ferns, I need to sow the Colossal Seed within the Tropical Ecosystem, which involves interacting with Pawel and assisting the god Huldra. Upon completing this quest chain, I’ll be rewarded with the seed needed for my Salt Fern harvest.

After placing the seed in the ground, the Salt Fern is destined to be a regular addition to your Tropical Habitat. To boost your Salt Fern population, consider sowing additional Tropical Seeds. Typically, when you sow a Tropical Seed, it may grow into either the Raro Tree or Salt Fern. Once you’ve grown one, go near it and use your Stone Shovel (or a more advanced tool) to gather resources from the plant.

What Is Kelp Used For?

Kelp demonstrates versatility because it possesses medicinal qualities beneficial not only to humans but also to the wildlife they may interact with. Abundant in one of its forms, kelp can surprisingly serve as animal feed too. Generally speaking, kelp has a wide range of applications, including:

  • It can be eaten to replenish a Moderate amount of health
  • It can be used to heal certain animals that are injured
  • In can be used to feed animalsin exchange for Dung, Amity, and other dropped items.
  • It can be used to complete Fill Orders, especially those set by Enchanted Dung.
