Where to Find Mega Zeraora in Pokemon Legends Z-A Mega Dimension DLC

Mega Zeraora is a recently added Pokémon in the Pokémon Legends Z-A Mega Dimension DLC. However, players must meet specific requirements to catch and befriend this powerful, electric-type Pokémon.

Okay, so I’m putting together a guide to help you guys out with Zeraora and Mega Zeraora. I’ll walk you through how to unlock and start the EX3 Side Mission, and most importantly, I’ll share the recipe for the Plasma-Glazed Donut – you need that to even battle this Legendary Pokemon!

How To Find Zeraora in Pokemon Legends Z-A Mega Dimension DLC

To encounter Zeraora in Pokemon Legends Z-A, players must begin the hidden side mission called “Raging Lightning,” which is part of the Mega Dimension DLC.

Before players can begin this new quest, they need to have already caught these Legendary Pokémon and finished the required previous quests.

Groudon – Hyperspace Mission 13 A Ruby Red Legend

Kyogre – Hyperspace Mission 14 A Sapphire Blue Legend

Rayquaza – Hyperspace Mission 12 The Greatest Gift

Diancie – EX1 Side Mission Shine Bright Like a Gemstone

Mewtwo – EX2 Side Mission Project M

To start this secret mission, go to Racine Construction and speak with Tarragon. He’ll give you a Canari Bread – make sure you hold onto it, and absolutely do not eat it!

Head to Cafe Cyclone and search for an entrance to the patio between the buildings. You’ll need to use the Holovator to get in.

Once you’re up, turn the camera to the right and look at the scaffolding on the left. Climb up the scaffolding, continuing until you reach a plank leading to the rooftop of the nearby building. Then, roll, jump, and use the roto glide to reach the rooftop.

Walk to the other side, then find a boy wearing a yellow jacket at the end of the U-shaped building. Talk to him—he’ll offer to trade items. Give him the Canari Bread, and he’ll give you the Popping Candy in return.

Head back to Hotel Z and speak with Ansha. This will start a humorous cutscene where she shares her latest creation: the Plasma-Glazed Donut.

How To Craft Plasma-Glazed Donut Recipe for Zeraora in Pokemon Legends Z-A

To continue, players must create a Plasma-Glazed Donut. They’ll need Hyperspace Berries and should aim for these flavor levels: 40 sweet, 200 spicy, 400 sour, 280 bitter, and 40 fresh.

Okay, so if you want to get where you need to go, here’s what I’ve found works best – just follow these steps!

  • 3 Hyper Roseli Berries
  • 2 Hyper Babiri Berries
  • 1 Hyper Payapa Berry
  • 1 Hyper Tanga Berry
  • 1 Hyper Charti Berry

Okay, so I finally made that Donut in the game, and it’s awesome! I immediately got a call from Emma. She wants to meet up, so I headed back to the Station – you know, where we all start the game. It turns out Korrine is there too! We’re all teaming up to battle Zeraora, and let me tell you, it’s a really challenging fight!

How To Beat & Catch Zeraora in Pokemon Legends Z-A Mega Dimension DLC

In battle, Mega Zeraora has six moves: five are relatively simple to avoid, but one is extremely difficult. Here’s a look at each move to help players prepare.

  • Wild Charge: Mega Zeraora will leap forward and beat the player (or Pokemon), dodge to the side.
  • Plasma Fist (Simple): Launches a blast of energy in a line. Also, dodge to the side.
  • Electroweb: Avoid standing where it falls, and it’s easy to dodge.
  • Dynamic Punch: Causes a lot of damage. But can be avoided by not standing at melee range.
  • Plasma Fist (Star Shape): Zeraora jumps in the middle of the arena, and charges a powerful move. Trainers should move as far as possible from the epicenter and dodge by walking slightly to the sides.
  • Plasma Fist (Z Shape): This is the most dangerous move. If players see that Mega Zeraora jumps to the sides of the Arena, prepare to dodge. It channels electricity that will gain lots of speed, and cross the arena in a zig-zag pattern.

The final attack is the trickiest part of this battle. To avoid it, get as far away from Zeraora as you can, keep your Pokémon in its Poké Ball, and then time your dodge (press Y) just before the attack hits.

Watch out! This energy wave reflects off the arena walls and comes back to where it started, near Mega Zeraora, so you’ll likely need to dodge it multiple times. Zeraora could use this attack repeatedly, potentially up to three times in a row.

After you defeat Zeraora, feel free to use whichever Poké Ball you think looks best to catch it. The item needed to Mega Evolve Zeraora, called the Zeraorite, will be included with the game, so you won’t have to search for it separately. Now you can enjoy playing with one of the most powerful Electric-type Pokémon in Legends Z-A!
