Hello Kitty Island Adventure: Rainbow Beam Locations

Where to Find Rainbow Beams in Hello Kitty Island Adventure

Rainbow Beams are unique items you can only get in City Town after finishing the “Rainbow or Bust” quest. After completing the quest, you can find them in a couple of different ways.

Every day, several Rainbow Beams will appear randomly around City Town – you might find them on rooftops, in parks, or even right on the street. Collecting all of them is a fast way to become friends with Usahana.

Rainbow Beams will appear repeatedly in City Town whenever it rains. Because they keep reappearing even after you collect them, rainy days are the perfect time to gather a large amount.

How to Complete the Rainbow or Bust Quest in Hello Kitty Island Adventure

Rainbow or Bust Quest Walkthrough

As you play through the story in City Town, you’ll eventually unlock the “Rainbow or Bust” quest. To begin, you need to find Cinnamoroll on Friendship Island and chat with him about City Town. He’ll say he wants to visit once he’s finished making deliveries, and he’ll ask you to join him.

The first step of this task is the simplest. He’s taking care of all the deliveries, so just follow him and chat with his customers at each stop.

  • Pompompurin in the Dessert Boat.
  • Kuromi in the Spooky Swamp.
  • My Melody in her shop.

After talking to everyone, they’ll ask you to travel to City Town. Once you’ve finished the delivery, speak to Cinnamoroll, then go to City Town to proceed with the quest.

Once you reach City Town, find Cinnamoroll and his friends at the fountain in the south to chat with them. While Cinnamoroll is explaining what he’s planning to do in town, it will start to rain. Luckily, Usahana suggests they head to the Imagination Cafe to get out of the weather.

Back at the cafe, chat with Cinnamoroll once more. Everyone agrees that Sweet Mochi would be the perfect snack! You’ll need to make 5 of them, and here’s the recipe:

Recipe Name Ingredients Cooking Station
Sweet Mochi
  • Rice Flour x1
  • Candy Cloud x1
Chef’s Station

First, speak with Usahana, and then give the Mochi to everyone. Cinnamoroll will say the Mochi reminds him of a “rainbow after the rain,” and after that, the group will head back outside.

You’ll find your friends gathered by the southern fountain in town again. This time, there’s a small rainbow nearby! Chat with them to learn about the Rainbow Beam, what it can do, and finish the “Rainbow or Bust” quest.

Once you finish this quest, it will sometimes rain in City Town. Players will also be able to find a small number of Rainbow Beams there each day.

What to Do with Rainbow Beams in Hello Kitty Island Adventure

Rainbow Beam Uses

Rainbow Beams have three key functions in Hello Kitty Island Adventure. Most importantly, they’re a crucial ingredient for making Rainbow Dango. You’ll unlock this recipe at the Imagination Cafe once you become friends with Usahana and reach friendship level 16.

Rainbow Dango is the best gift to give Usahana to quickly become her best friend. It’s the most effective gift, and you should prioritize giving it to her once you’ve learned how to make it.

You can give Usahana Rainbow Beams as a small gift, but it’s usually better to save them. The Rainbow Dango recipe only needs one Rainbow Beam, and that makes a much more valuable gift!

So, another cool thing you can do with Rainbow Beams is recycle them at the Recycling Plant over in Rainbow Reef. Basically, you trade them in and get a bunch of Dye Pouches! It’s a pretty easy way to stock up on dye, especially if you’ve already become best buds with Usahana or just have a ton of Rainbow Beams you don’t need.
