Where to Find the Grand Gate Map in Hollow Knight: Silksong
Instead of traditionally hunting for Shakra to obtain your maps in other locations, the Grand Gate grants you an immediate purchase option. Upon defeating the Last Judge, your route straightaway leads into the Grand Gate. From where the battle took place, proceed to the right until you encounter a pressure-sensitive platform.
Stepping onto this platform feels like taking a step into an adventure! Turning right and walking through the threshold reveals the grand, imposing gate ahead of me. Upon crossing it, I find myself before a machine showcasing a miniature model of the Citadel – just waiting to be explored. This exciting moment presents an opportunity for me to obtain a map, and all I need are 40 Rosaries. It’s easy: simply interact with the machine, insert the required Rosaries, and voila! The map is now mine to guide my journey.
What to Do After Buying the Grand Gate Map in Hollow Knight: Silksong
Equipped with what you’ve just acquired, you can confidently venture further into the Citadel. After making your purchase, proceed to the right, and you’ll find an elevator shortly. Activating the control lowers the lift, transporting Hornet to the lower levels. The descent is jarring, with a few abrupt stops, and requires you to keep pressing the switch. Eventually, the elevator malfunctions, causing Hornet to plummet into the hazardous mechanical zone beneath the Citadel, known as the Underworks.
When an elevator accident occurs, head to your right and pay 15 Rosaries to lift a temporary bench for some rest. Keep in mind that you’ll have to pay again every time you use it. Once you feel better, proceed to the right to leave through the Grand Gate and enter the Underworks.
In the depths of Underworks, there’s a fresh location known as The Cauldron, where you can eventually unveil a remarkable skill: the Clawline. This Clawline ability functions like a grappling hook, making it indispensable for traversing the game further and discovering new quick routes.
Exploring the Grand Gate and venturing into the Underworks signifies the start of Act Two in Hornet’s journey, and it represents a significant shift in Hornet’s quest as they ascend Pharloom’s summit.
