As a seasoned gamer with over two decades of experience under my belt, I can confidently say that Metaphor: ReFantazio has been a rollercoaster ride of epic proportions! The final month of this game has offered me an abundance of free time to delve deeper into its rich and diverse world.

During the closing stage of “Metaphor: ReFantazio”, you’ll have an extended period of leisure time on hand, coupled with a variety of fresh activities to engage in, as you prepare for the climactic battle. Although your primary goal is to conquer the Dragon Trials and grow stronger, numerous new side missions have surfaced in various cities across the globe, which you can also undertake.

One of these side quests is Deliver Hot Spring Water, which is given by the Gentle Merchant in Altabury. While this side quest may seem like a very odd request, while also a joke at real-world events, its rewards can make this quest well worth the effort.

To finish this mission, simply locate the hot spring in Altabury and immerse yourself in it at night. The hot spring can be found on the lower level of Blue Sky Bridge, but it’s only accessible during the night hours. During the day, the hot spring icon will not appear, so wait until evening. Once you reach the Gentle Merchant, turn around and look for a spiral staircase behind her. This staircase spirals downwards as it leads to the lower section where the hot spring is located.

As I journey towards the enchanting store, I’ll stumble upon a quaint wooden-beamed cave, adorned with a Royal Virtue crown bearing a puzzling question mark. Taking a moment to relax, I decide to soak in the nearby Hot Spring, which miraculously fills my empty vial for my quest. Whilst basking in the warm waters, I’m presented with three intriguing dialogue choices:

  • Bear with it.
  • Find a cooler spot.
  • Surrender to the heat.

It doesn’t matter what choice you make, you’ll get a random amount of Magla for spending time in the Hot Spring, on top of the filled vial to get the rewards for the quest. You’ll also get a Hero’s Fruit for spending time in the Hot Spring. To complete the quest, return to the Gentle Merchant any following day to turn in vial and complete the request. The final questions the merchant asks will have no outcome on the quest or rewards you get.

Rewards For Deliver Hot Spring Water In Metaphor: ReFantazio

Completing this mission rewards you with a Gold Beetle, an Almighty Panacea, and The Prince’s Serene Embrace. An Almighty Panacea is incredibly beneficial as it cures all status issues for every member of your party, particularly handy against challenging late-game bosses. The Prince’s Serene Embrace is a special Bath Salt that, when applied to the Gauntlet Runner at night, will boost the protagonist’s maximum MP by two points.
