How to Catch a Shadow Spray in Hello Kitty Island Adventure
Shadow Sprays are tricky to locate – they only appear in the City Town Sewers. Look for the big room in the southeastern part of the Sewers; it’s the one with the large platform covered in Squeakles.
You’ll find Shadow Sprays hidden somewhere in the water in this room. We’ve discovered them in the northwest and southeast corners, and also underneath the southwest edge of the central platform.
Shadow Sprays can be hard to find, especially in some areas. If you’re having trouble, try casting your line around the room to locate them.
After you locate Shadow Spray, catching them is just like fishing for any other type of fish. Simply cast your line, patiently wait for a bite, and reel it in quickly to successfully catch one.

How to Complete the Taiyaki Trials Quest
Okay, so in Hello Kitty Island Adventure, you can decorate your aquariums with these things called Shadow Sprays – basically, you can put them in any tank in any of your homes, even the ones in the Rainbow Tower in City Town! Plus, if you want to try and get more of that cute Fwish furniture, you can actually release Shadow Sprays into a Fwishing Well. It’s a bit of a gamble, but it might get you some awesome new stuff!
The Shadow Spray has one special purpose: it’s essential for finishing the “Taiyaki Trials” quest. To complete the quest, you’ll need to catch a Twilight Eye, a Coral Scouter, and then give Badtz-Maru the Shadow Spray. Completing this quest is worthwhile because you’ll earn the Taiyaki recipe as a reward.
Before you can start the “Taiyaki Trials” quest, you’ll first need to unlock the Sewers by completing the “Above and Below” quest, and finish a couple of other quests that take place within the Sewers.
