Where to Find Thunder Stone in Pokemon Scarlet & Violet

Where to Find Thunder Stone in Pokemon Scarlet & Violet

As a seasoned Pokémon trainer with over three decades of catching ’em all under my belt, I can confidently say that every new generation brings fresh excitement and challenges. And let me tell you, the Thunder Stones in Scarlet and Violet have definitely stirred up some electrifying action!

In the game Pokemon Scarlet & Violet, each Evolution Stone holds significance, yet none seem more crucial than the Thunder Stone. This valuable item is instrumental in evolving no less than five distinct Pokemon, ranging from beloved classics to exciting new additions. As a matter of fact, all the familiar Evolution Stones from previous games are also present in Pokemon Scarlet & Violet. However, unlike some other stones that transform only one Pokemon, players will require multiple Thunder Stones to fill out their Pokedex fully. Here’s where you can find them and which Pokemon they’re best suited for.

Where to Buy Thunder Stones in Pokemon Scarlet & Violet

Delibird Presents

Where to Find Thunder Stone in Pokemon Scarlet & Violet

In the shop known as “Delibird Presents,” you can purchase Thunder Stones for a price of 3000 once you’ve accumulated 3 gym badges. Additionally, the Fire Stone, Leaf Stone, and Water Stone will become accessible at this store. There are three cities where Delibird Presents is located:

  • Mesagoza
  • Levincia
  • Cascarrofa

Purchasing Thunder Stones at Delibird Presents, specifically in either Violet or Scarlet, is the most reliable method for acquiring them. However, if you’re embarking on your Treasure Hunt journey, it might take some time before the Thunderstones become available for sale. If you wish to evolve one of your Pokemon quickly, obtaining a Thunder Stone from a consistent location could be a good strategy.

It’s important to clarify that contrary to common belief, Thunder Stones are not obtainable at the Porto Marinada Auction. Instead, you can acquire Dawn Stones, Shiny Stones, Sun Stones, and Moon Stones there.

Dex Reward and Fixed Locations

After catching and registering thirty different Pokémon in your Paldean Pokedex, you’ll receive a Thunder Stone as a Dex Reward. To claim this prize, simply open your Pokedex and press the X-button. Remember, for the registration to be valid, you must have actually caught these thirty Pokémon yourself.

In the region of Paldea, there are three specific locations where a Thunder Stone is permanently positioned, either Violet or Scarlet in color. As you journey through Paldea and unveil Koraidon/Miraidon’s powers, you will be able to access roughly 2 out of these 3 locations. The fixed Thunder Stones can be found at:

  • West Province (Area One)
  • Casseroya Lake
  • Levincia City

West Province (Area One)

In the West Province (Area One), the first Thunder Stone you’ll encounter is perched atop a lighthouse, close to the road heading towards the Open Sky Titan boss fight. Just beyond the river, there are several windmills with spiral staircases leading up to their tops. One of these windmills contains a Thunder Stone. For an exact location on your map, check out the image provided earlier.

Levincia City

In Levincia City, search for the row of five buildings positioned towards the right side. Once there, look for a Thunder Stone close to the lamppost that overlooks the sea. Here is an illustration for a more precise understanding of the location.

Casseroya Lake

There’s a Thunder Stone in Casseroya Lake on the northwestern segment. If you look from Casseroya Lake’s flight spot, it’s the one directly west of it. Use Koraidon to climb to the top of the segment, and look for a Poke Ball item along the winding “road.” There are various items on each segment in Casseroya Lake, but if you’re looking for the Thunder Stone, it’ll be on the highest ledge. If you’re having trouble finding it, refer to the flag/objective marker on the above image.

Should You Evolve Them?

In the game Scarlet/Violet, Thunder Stones are useful for evolving several Pokemon found in Paldea. If you’ve purchased the Hidden Treasure of Area Zero DLC expansion, an additional two Pokemon can also be evolved using these stones. Evolving your Pokemon is essential if you want them to have higher base stats as a rule. Furthermore, once evolved, your Pokemon can “pick up” or “relearn” moves it may not have already learned in its previous form (for example, turning Eevee into Jolteon and learning the move “Thunder Shock”).
