Unfortunately, Hyper Light Breaker fails to provide much clarity on what materials and resources are or where to acquire them. Similar to other roguelike games, you’ll likely pick up the necessary details as you progress, but for those who prefer to bypass guesswork, here’s a hint about where to find Golden Rations more consistently.

Where to Get Golden Rations

In the early access version of the game, you can acquire Golden Rations in two primary ways: through exploration and by resetting cycles. During your adventures, keep an eye out for chest icons marked on the map. These often hold resources for buying items or upgrades, and occasionally they may contain Golden Rations. If a chest contains a ration, you’ll notice a Golden Ration icon above it to indicate this.

Spots marked with a golden diamond icon on the map often have treasure chests that follow the Golden Ratio nearby.

As a fan, I’d like to share another strategy: either wait for a reset or trigger one manually. By this, I mean every occurrence of the Overgrowth, which we call a cycle. The cycle resets when your Rez count hits zero. Once you exhaust all revives, you’ll be given two choices: try the map again at the cost of resources, or completely reset the cycle at the Cursed Outpost. After a reset, your score will be tallied, and if it’s high enough to advance in rank, you’ll receive Golden Rations as a reward.
