Volcanic Eruption is a powerful item you can find in Crimson Desert. It’s dropped by defeating Flame Knight Tristan in Demeniss, and is also obtainable from a chest hidden behind a waterfall between Hernand and Demeniss. You can actually get two of these items, but generally, one is enough unless you want to use it on different characters in Crimson Desert.
Crimson Desert Volcanic Eruption Location
You can find the Scorchflame Plate Gloves in a chest hidden inside Cascade Grotto. This cave, located along the Denn River between Hernand and Demeniss, is near where the river splits into three directions – north, west, and south. Look for a small pile of stacked stones marking the entrance, as this is typical of hidden waterfall caves.
Stand in front of the waterfall and charge up a Stab attack, then use it to break through the water. Once inside the cave, open the ornate chest to claim the gloves. Be sure to search the entire cave for other items – waterfall caves often contain valuable loot you can sell, and you might even find Palmar Pills.
After you get the gloves, you can extract Volcanic Eruption from them by visiting a witch.
Tristan the Flame Knight
You can also get the Scorchflame Plate Gloves by defeating Flame Knight Tristan. He’s located in the Flame Knight’s Castle in western Demeniss. If you can’t find him there, make sure you’ve completed Chapter 6 of the main story.
Tristan might seem tough, but you can quickly break his defense with Force Palm. Focus on parrying or perfectly dodging his attacks to recover Spirit, then use Force Palm and strong attacks to stagger him. Mastering the advanced combat system in Crimson Desert makes all the boss fights easier, so if you’re struggling with Tristan, try varying your attack strategy to inflict more damage.
After defeating him, you’ll receive an additional pair of Scorchflame Plate Gloves. To find a matching sword and shield, search the castle once it’s been freed. With a thorough search, you should be able to locate Tristan’s weapons.
How to Use Volcanic Eruption/Imbue Element in Crimson Desert
- Hold F3/D-Pad Right, then select the Fire element. When you use a skill that can be imbued with an element, an ‘Imbue’ control prompt will appear at the bottom-right of your screen.
This Abyss Gear functions only when you attack using your Imbue Element skill with Fire selected. When you do, your attacks will create an explosion that sends out four fireballs, significantly boosting your area damage. This is particularly effective against large groups of enemies, although the many visual effects can sometimes be distracting.
To unlock the Fire element, you first need to finish the Spire of Stars section in Chapter 4. Then, head to the Spire of Ringing Truth and solve all the Abyss puzzles there, ultimately reaching the Tree of Slumber Abyss. Once you’ve done that, use your Abyss Artifacts to unlock the Imbue Element ability, which will give you access to Volcanic Eruption.
