Where Winds Meet adds Zelda TOTK-style vehicle building in surprise update

Players of the game Where Winds Meet in China can now create custom machines, and the system is very similar to the building mechanics found in The Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom.

A new update launched on November 26th for Chinese players, adding a complete machine-building feature. After finishing a quick quest, players can enter a construction mode where they can design and build their own functional machines using a variety of parts.

Players can build a wide variety of vehicles, including planes, carts, and rafts, to explore the gameโ€™s new area with greater freedom.

Similar to the ancient, mechanical devices in Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom, the machines in Where Winds Meet are temporary and have limited lifespans. Players can share their creations with others and use designs to quickly build machines without having to gather materials and construct them piece by piece.

Where Winds Meet gets Zelda: TOTK vehicle feature

The newest game update introduces the Mo Sect, a group of skilled engineers known for building intricate machines, traps, and early technology. Translated posts reveal they were renowned for their practical inventions that helped people. This explains the addition of steampunk-inspired machines and contraptions that players can use to travel quickly through the mountainous areas. To join the Mo Sect, players will need to focus on researching and testing new devices.

Currently, this feature is only available in the Chinese version of the game. We don’t have a firm date for when it will be released on other servers, but itโ€™s expected to arrive after the updates for the Desert, Snow, and Grassland regions.
