Mysterious Colossus is a quest in Where Winds Meet that unlocks the next part of the story: the Gleaming Abyss campaign, which ends with a battle against The Void King.
These two missions feature several challenging puzzles. This guide provides a detailed, step-by-step walkthrough to help players solve them and complete the quests.
Mysterious Colossus Quest Guide in Where Winds Meet
You can begin the Mysterious Colossus quest in the Gleaming Abyss area of Moonveil Mountain in the game Where Winds Meet. To start the Lost Chapter quest, simply go to the Wraith Village Boundary Stone.
Approach the Mysterious Colossus
Okay, so I’m following the quest marker deep into the Gleaming Abyss. It led me to this foggy area, and honestly, it’s a little creepy! I immediately saw two huge red coffins and this figure dressed in red robes, but the guide said to just ignore them. Instead, I climbed the wall right behind those coffins to continue.
In the distance, you’ll see two torches burning. Head towards them, and as you do, the fog will clear, revealing a huge Buddha statue above you.
Investigate the Anomalies in the Surroundings
Go to the stone statues kneeling before the big statue. You’ll find a prompt that says “Imitate” next to a red cloth. Select the prompt and stay seated. After a moment, blue flames will appear on nearby buildings, and a glowing blue deer will run past.
Activate Wind Sense to locate the Deer Tracks, then follow them upstairs and around the back of the statue. You’ll discover two villagers praying before a stone door.
How to Open the Stone Door
The stone statues glow with blue fire when the villagers pray before them. But if anyone gets close, the villagers shield their eyes, and the fire disappears.
To get the villagers to hold their praying position, step back until they pose correctly. Then, quickly cast the Meridian Touch Mystical Art on both of them to freeze them in place. After that, rush over to the third statue and choose the “Make Offerings” option.
Gleaming Abyss Quest Guide in Where Winds Meet
Go inside the newly opened cave and activate the Gleaming Abyss Path Boundary Stone. This will unlock a teleportation point.
Collect five fireflies within the cave to learn the Glow of Fireflies Mystic Art. This ability lets you create light whenever you need it.
Head down the narrow path inside the cave, and you’ll eventually reach a large pond. A winding path leads up to a glowing Stone Coffin, and you’ll find the Gleaming Abyss – Pond Boundary Stone right at the pond’s edge.
How to Reach the Stone Coffin
As you approach the small path leading to the floating coffin over the pond, you’ll encounter a barrier. This means you now need to locate three Deer Shadows to continue.
| Deer Shadow Water’s Edge | To the left of the Boundary Stone, you’ll see two spirits and a Deer Shadow standing on a pier overlooking the pond. Walk up to them and select “Sense Dream Echo.” The Deer Shadow will return to the stone coffin, and this objective will be marked complete. |
|
|---|---|---|
| Deer Shadow Vine’s Depths | Right next to the Boundary Stone is a narrow entrance you can crawl inside by crouching (C). Enter this area and interact with the male Dream Echo to have the Deer Shadow return. Climb the vines next to the spirit to return to the main area. |
|
| Deer Shadow Drum’s Top | Approach the two spirits standing on top of two drums, opposite the Boundary Stone’s location. Activate your Wind Sense (V) and you’ll see an overgrown branch on the wall next to the two blue flame torches. Use a Fire Arrow with your Bow to burn the branch to ashes, and the lantern behind it will light up, which will result in multiple drums rising up from the water. The two spirits will take turns using these drums as jump pads to reach the other side of the pond. Follow the two spirits and you’ll see a Deer Shadow run back to the stone coffin. Claim all treasures in this location and return the way you came. |

Once you’ve discovered all three Deer Shadows, the way forward will become clear, allowing you to reach the Stone Coffin. Opening the coffin will take you down to the next area. In this large arena, you’ll need to defeat all the Poison Puppets to proceed.
How to Open the Stone Gate
Once the area is clear, go up the stairs to the side of the arena. You’ll find another Deer Shadow and a male spirit there. Pick up the Deer Skull on the ground – you’ll need it later on to get a key item.
Keep going forward, and you’ll find an upright wooden coffin with a mummy inside. Open the coffin to get the Human Cocoon’s Notes and the Stone Gate Key. Go back to the arena and use the stone mechanism to insert the Stone Gate Key, which will open the way forward.
How to Find All Deer Skull Parts
Go through the Stone Gate and defeat the puppet to find the Gleaming Abyss – Bottom Boundary Stone. There’s another locked door right behind it, but don’t worry about that yet. Instead, turn to your right, jump up, and go through the stone pillars to drop down on the other side.
Turn right to find two Dream Echoes, a Deer Shadow, and a Deer Skull nearby. Purify the Deer Skull to get a Deer Antler. Then, turn around and climb the stone steps to a wooden platform. You’ll find another Deer Shadow there, and another Deer Skull next to it. Interact with this skull to get your second Deer Antler.
Drop down to the right to land in front of the stone wall. Then, interact with the wall and place the three Deer Skull pieces to open the way forward.
Defeat The Void King
You’ll face The Void King in this arena – he’s a tough boss with two stages. At the entrance, you can find a Hero’s Tomb, letting you call in other players for assistance if you need it. If you defeat The Void King, you’ll receive the following rewards:
- Echo Jade x50
- Medicinal Tales x1
- Coins x30000
- Longevity Fruit Seed x1
- Divine Roulette Inner Way: Tome x1
- Oscillating Jade x5
- EXP x30000
- Qinghe Exploration x100
Uncover the Final Story
Go through the Mist Gate, located behind the arena where you fought the Void King, to go back to the cave. Find the Dream Echo near a grave and speak with it. Afterwards, head back and climb the stairs to a big, empty house – it has some useful items inside.
Use the strange device beside the two shimmering figures near the pond. This will create a stone path that leads back to the Gleaming Abyss – Pond Boundary Stone. Then, click on the deer symbol on the ground to finish the quest and start the Gleaming Abyss campaign.
