Where Winds Meet Update 1.015 Released, as Complete Patch Notes for Ver. 1.2 Makes Its Way Out

Major Updates

New Map: Nine Mortal Ways Base

Family isn’t just about blood, but loyalty and support.

  • Participation Requirements: Reach Lv. 5 and complete Qinghe Main Chapter: Another New Wing

  • The Nine Mortal Ways operate secretly within the city, with their main base hidden beneath the surface in the Ghostlight Market. Beginning January 23, 2026, players (Wanderers) who explore the “Nine Mortal Ways Base” can uncover the story of the “Amidst Ghosts,” experience ten different scams, learn how to avoid being tricked, and earn rewards. These rewards include the Stone of My Heart accessory, the Iron Rice Bowl hat, the Golden Rat hair ornament, the Notorious Rodent hero title, and the Lingering Melody item.

  • The city of Kaifeng is warning residents about a surge in scams. Complete the “Honest Shovel,” “Anti-Fraud Ambassador,” and “Crazy Stones” tasks to earn rewards like the [Honest Shovel] accessory and the [No Free Lunch] hero title.

  • The Mysterious Stage is an ancient ruin, scarred by some past disaster. Its crumbling walls and hidden depths whisper stories of civilizations long gone. The path to enter lies concealed within the Nine Mortal Ways Base, waiting for someone with a special fate to discover it.

New Map: Mistveil Prison

Starting January 16, 2026, a new character will become available in Mistveil Forest, Kaifeng. Once you finish the Mistveil Dungeon and return to the beginning, you’ll meet a guide who will start you on a new quest. What that quest holds is a secret! Please note that this new content, called “Mysterious Stage,” is meant to be played by one player only.

Kaifeng Final Volume: Gambit Beneath the Shimmer

Complete to unlock “Campaign: Supreme Freedom”

A grand feast, a mythic treasure.

A pleading melody, a city in turmoil.

  • To participate, you need to finish these tasks: complete the ‘Kaifeng Jianghu Legacy: Volume II: Shadows in Bloom’ questline, finish the main ‘Kaifeng’ chapter called ‘Furnace of Heaven and Earth’, and explore at least 6000 points of interest in Kaifeng.

  • Start by completing the ‘Lingering Melody’ quest for initial rewards. Then, gather clues from ‘Kaifeng: Tales and Echoes’ to unlock the ‘Spring Seeking’ decoration.

Finish both of these tasks to get the key for the fourth floor of Revelry Hall and unlock the Shimmer of South Easter eggs.

Players who complete the “Campaign: Supreme Freedom” in the latest update can earn the [Into the Dream] decoration. It’s also available for purchase in the Season Shop.

Moreover, clearing all Kaifeng campaigns rewards the accessory [A Zephyr’s Answer].”

Guild Battle – Preseason

On their own turf, wanderers thrive and master their craft.

A warmup for the Guild Battle!

  • Event Time:

    Preparation Phase: January 9–16, 2026

Competition Phase: January 17–February 6, 2026. Matchmaking opens every Saturday and Sunday.

  • Participation Requirements: Reach Guild Lv.3 and achieve a Guild Prosperity of 30,000.

  • Introduction

Guild Battle: Preseason will begin after the update on January 9, 2026. It will have two parts: a Preparation Phase and a Competition Phase.

    (1) Preparation Phase:

Guild members can unlock unique abilities specifically for Guild Battles by improving their techniques. Guild Leaders can also invite new members to join and work together to plan winning strategies.

Guilds will compete in Battlegrounds. At the start of each season, the Guild Leader and Deputy Leader must select a single Battleground for their guild to use. This choice lasts for the entire season.

For the best gaming experience, we suggest joining the Battleground server closest to your location.

    Canglang: Asia & Oceania

    Yunya: Europe & Africa

    Yougu: North & South America

    (2) Competition Phase:

Matchmaking for the Preseason will be available at designated times every Saturday and Sunday.

During combat, use everything you prepared beforehand – like gathering troops, making a plan, and training your skills – to give yourself the upper hand!

Note: Battle times differ for each Battleground.

    Canglang: Saturdays & Sundays, 20:30 (UTC+8)

    Yunya: Saturdays & Sundays, 20:30 (UTC+1)

    Yougu: Saturdays & Sundays, 20:30 (UTC-5)

Once battles start, you’ll only be matched with players in the same battleground. Your ranking will be determined by your score in each match.

Players will receive rewards like Guild Reputation, Wonder Jade, and Treasure Tokens for every Preseason battle they participate in. At the end of the Preseason, extra rewards will be given out based on where players rank.

Joint Punishment

  • Availability: After the version update on January 9, 2026

  • Players who repeatedly break the rules or consistently avoid being caught may face a penalty called “Joint Punishment”.

If a player is sentenced to jail, their close partners—those they’ve sworn to work with, mentors/apprentices, and friends with a strong bond (at least 16,000 intimacy)—could also be jailed. Players affected will be asked to confirm before this happens. Once jailed together, both the original player and those implicated can participate in a public shaming ceremony called a Joint Parade. The more people involved in the parade, the shorter everyone’s sentence will be!

New Encounter: Bellman’s Oath

Hear the sky’s song: flowers sink, bells chime, a harmony both real and rare.

Heed the land’s call: mists part, a mysterious figure speaks the secrets there.

  • Participation Requirements: Complete Quest: Melodies of Peace.

  • Two new adventures, “Voices in the Air” and “Bellman’s Oath,” are now available! Plant Moonlit Flower seeds in the Flower Expanse and repair the bell at the Peace Bell Tower. Once the bell rings again, a beautiful, otherworldly melody will fill the air—a sound that feels like it comes from beyond our world.

New Lost Chapter: The Gilded Chase

Wealth is born unto you, only to be scattered like dust.

Please join me in celebrating the Master’s birthday on the Mirage Boat! Let’s make sure he doesn’t feel alone on his special day.

  • Unlock Requirements: Complete the Main Chapter: A Horse Neighs in the Forest (Still Shore, Qinghe).

  • Starting January 16, 2026, players (Wanderers) will be able to check the Bounty Board in Qinghe’s Harvestfall Village. Master Wuhen in Weiyang City is offering a reward for anyone who can find Jun Bu Jian, a famous and difficult-to-catch thief. Players can accept this bounty and try to encounter the thief themselves to see if their skills live up to the hype.

  • Completing this quest rewards items including [Lingering Melody] and [Echo Jade].

New Lost Chapter: Whispers Beneath the Moon

“Love and romance? They’ll only slow my sword arm!”

  • To join, you need to be at least level 32 and have finished the ‘New Arrival in Kaifeng – Setting Out’ chapter in the Kaifeng storyline.

  • Starting January 26, 2026, a new area – a hidden ancestral hall – will become available in Prosperity Haven. If you’ve previously helped Xiao Shi, the runaway groom, you’ll be able to experience his story and learn about the heartwarming, yet sad, tale of two young lovers.

  • Rewards: Accessory: Cool Breeze Fan, Hero Title: Little Matchmaker, Echo Jade and other rewards.

Training Ground Update: Boss Dummy

  • As a player, I’ve discovered a really cool training feature in “Sword Trial”! You can head to the “Training Ground” and summon “Boss Dummies” to practice fighting. They’re designed after the big bosses in the game, and there are three kinds: ones that have a time limit, ones with a set amount of health, and free-for-all dummies you can just jump in and battle whenever you want.

As a player, I’ve noticed that during practice, we can use buffs to make things feel more like a real fight. It’s a great way to get ready for the challenges ahead!

New Gamplay: Divination

  • I’m so excited for the update on January 9, 2026! Apparently, if you haven’t chosen a sect yet, you’ll be able to find Yuanzhen, this mysterious Daoist, in Qinghe Village – specifically, at Harvestfall Village. You can then try out this new Divination gameplay, which sounds really interesting!

New Event: First Jianghu Martial Games

Faster, Higher, Stronger, Together!

Kaifeng is filled with excitement as the First Jianghu Martial Games have begun! Bounty boards are advertising the event, promising generous rewards for anyone who takes part.

I was totally confused and asked, “What exactly is the Jianghu Martial Games?” This big, strong guy nearby just burst out laughing and explained it’s like, a crazy mix of things – building human ladders, carrying grandmas, trying to escape from hidden rooms, and even creating your own guilds! It sounds wild!

  • Event Time: After update on January 9, 2026 –  Februry 3, 2026, 045959

  • Participation Requirements: Reach Lv. 5 and complete Qinghe Main Chapter: Another New Wing

  • Following the update, three new Jianghu Martial Games events – “Faster,” “Higher,” and “Stronger” – will become available at the same time. The “Together” event will begin on January 12th.

Finish certain tasks to get Little Red Flowers! You can then trade these flowers at a special event shop for cool rewards like the Hide & Seek hat, the Pretty Terrifying face accessory, the Moonrise Over the River and Resonating Melody decorations, and other items!

Once the event is over, the top 30 guilds will each receive the titles ‘Hero Paragon: Five Virtues,’ ‘Wonder Jade,’ and ‘Treasure Token.’ Their Guild Leaders and Deputy Leaders will also get a special ‘Gold Leader’ badge. Guilds ranked 31st through 200th will receive the titles ‘Hero Paragon: Three Virtues,’ ‘Wonder Jade,’ and ‘Treasure Token,’ with Guild Leaders and Deputy Leaders additionally earning the ‘Silver Leader’ badge. Plus, any guild that collectively earns 50,000 or 100,000 Little Red Flowers will receive additional Wonder Jade and Treasure Tokens. Only flowers earned by current guild members will count towards these totals.

Gifts for Fledgling and Friends

  • Event Time: After the version update on January 9, 2026

  • Starting January 9th, after the game update, new players will receive a “Fledgling” status for the first 14 days of gameplay.

  • New players can earn [Fledgling Growth Chests] by completing the Energy Challenge, whether they play alone, with a team, or in co-op mode. As part of the new Fledgling system, all current players will receive a [Fledgling Appearance Chest] and other rewards. Plus, teaming up with Fledgling players offers additional advantages in Guild, Hero’s Realms, and Sword Trial modes.

Guild events now offer a “Fledgling Bonus.” If a new player (a “Fledgling”) participates and the event is completed, everyone on the team will receive bonus [Guild Fledging Gift] rewards.

Swallow’s Bond

New swallows arrive with the season, traveling together with the wind.

  • Event Time: After the version update on January 9, 2026 to March 5, 2026

  • Participation Requirements: Reach Lv.5 and complete Qinghe Main Chapter: Another New Wing.

Players new to the game, or those returning after a break, will be designated as “Fledglings” during their first event if they meet these conditions: they’re within two weeks of creating their character (have the ‘Fledgling’ marker), or they’ve completed the ‘Swallow’s Return’ quest, and their character is below level 60.

Players who first join an event at Character Level 60 or higher will be designated as a “Guide Swallow.”

Players who are new to the game or returning after a break, and who have reached level 14, can choose whichever role they prefer when starting.

  • Players who know the martial world are invited to join forces with newcomers or returning friends to tackle challenges and claim generous rewards.

  • New players (Fledglings) can earn rewards to help them improve their equipment, including special chests with gear and tuning stones. Players who help new players (Guide Swallows) will receive cosmetic rewards like a unique accessory, a special title, and a badge.

Optimizations & Fixes

  • Photo Mode Optimization

On January 9, 2026, we’re releasing a big update to the in-game photo feature! You’ll have new tools to help you capture and share your best moments in the game.

The game now features realistic lighting that dynamically impacts characters, people, and surroundings. You can adjust up to three light sources to create stunning and creative visuals.

Capture incredibly detailed photos with our Ultra HD mode, which shoots at twice your device’s resolution. This lets you easily create stunning 4K images perfect for wallpapers.

Silhouette Mode: Hide character lighting with one tap for cinematic, moody shots.

Night Mode: Easily control environmental lighting to capture the beauty of the night.

We’ve added several improvements! You can now hide titles, organize templates into a ‘My’ category, and enjoy camera rotation and movement even when using UI-hidden mode. Mobile users get 4-way controls, time-freeze capture, and PC users can now move characters and zoom at the same time.

We’ll be adding more detailed models for mobile devices in a future update. This is dependent on improvements to the underlying engine.

  • Promise Keeper

Beginning January 9, 2026, players can earn a [Never-Delay Feather] by defeating bosses in the “Hero’s Realm” and “Sword Trial” modes of Wandering Paths (excluding Guild Hero’s Realm and Joint Battle), as long as a teammate collects the energy reward.

Gather enough Never-Delay Feathers to automatically unlock the special Hero Title, Promise Keeper. You can then collect more Never-Delay Feathers to increase the level of your Promise Keeper title.

  • Optimization: Co-op for Wandering Paths

Co-op Room now lets players go back to the main area immediately after completing “Wandering Paths” activities. The host player can decide if this happens automatically.

  • Optimization: Assist Signpost

The Assist Signpost has been updated with new visual options. When it receives 100 likes, it transforms into the High-Like Assist Signpost, featuring brighter colors and improved effects.

You can unlock more character outfits and looks by gaining Assistance Ranking. This happens when you get likes from other players or successfully help them during Co-op Boss battles.

Weekly rankings grant you limited access to Hero Assist Signpost Appearance and Echo Jade.

We’re also adding Heroic Shadow Assist! During Solo Mode boss battles, a random player might appear to help you out.

  • New Feature: Auto-Recycle and Gear Retrieval

The updated Bag, Gear, and Gear Recycling system now features two new options: Auto-Recycle and Gear Retrieval. Auto-Recycle lets you create rules to automatically break down unwanted gear into crafting materials. It’s turned off by default, so you’ll need to enable it if you want to use it. Gear Retrieval allows you to get back any materials you’ve recycled into crafting materials – either automatically or manually – within the last 7 days, effectively letting you recover the gear itself.

  • New Feature: Exploration Book

[Requirements]: Clear Qinghe Campaign “Still Shore”

The game now features an “Exploration Book” with two sections: “Weekly Digest” and “Unexplored Tales,” offering players more to discover.

I love that the game now has a Weekly Digest! It basically gives me personalized suggestions for cool things to do each week, or I can even create my own checklist of my favorite events for super easy access. It’s a great way to stay on top of everything!

Unexplored Tales: Recommending quests that you might have missed.

  • Web Account Center

You can now use our new online Account Center to manage how your accounts are connected. We’ll be adding more features soon!

  • Patch Note: Controller Optimizations

The PlayStation controller’s touchpad offers advanced features like pressure sensitivity and four-way swiping, making it easier and faster to use the system. You can also customize these controls to your preferences.

As a gamer, I’m really excited about this new voice input feature! It basically lets you talk and have it instantly show up as text, which is awesome. What I love is that it makes everything smoother and cheaper to run on the backend – less strain on the system for displaying text. And honestly, it just feels way more natural and efficient when you’re using a controller.

Global Cursor lets you easily control your interface with a single cursor. You can switch between standard cursor and focus modes for accurate clicking and streamlined workflows.

A new button layout for the Jade Umbrella is now available! It’s designed for better melee attacks with the Vernal Umbrella and can be found in the key settings. Give it a try!

25. Corrected the display error for gear tiers in the bag for some languages.

26. Fixed an issue preventing trophy acquisition after completing the “Heavenfall” quest.

27. Resolved an unselectable area filter in the [Discipleship] sidebar.

We fixed a bug that stopped users from previewing outfits when they were currently wearing separate top and bottom pieces. Now you can always see how different outfits will look!

I’m so excited they’ve added controller vibration for when I’m riding the White-browed Goose, Fleethoof, and Horskie! It’s going to make those rides feel so much more immersive now!

30. Optimized controller vibration feedback for horse-type mounts.

We updated the user interface for the Kaifeng Tour Map, Healer screen, and Tuning screen. We also improved how the Firework Auction interface works with different languages.

Because this update is so large, expect another one to follow shortly that addresses any problems that might appear.
