As a long-time Call of Duty enthusiast with over two decades of gaming under my belt, I have witnessed the evolution of this iconic franchise from its humble beginnings to the behemoth it is today. The latest addition to the series, Black Ops 6, has been a source of much excitement and anticipation for fans like myself.
It can be challenging to identify all the teams contributing to Call of Duty’s development, as there are numerous entities involved in its production. Contrary to common belief, Black Ops 6 is not solely developed by a single company; instead, it incorporates various innovations and modifications.
Initially, Infinity Ward ignited the series with 2003’s Call of Duty and 2005’s Call of Duty 2. Later in 2006, Treyarch stepped up to the plate, taking over as the lead developer for Call of Duty 3 while Infinity Ward moved aside. Since then, more teams have joined the fray, sparking curiosity among players about who develops which games within the franchise.
Black Ops 6 carries on the spy-themed narrative from the Call of Duty series, adding a dash of traditional Zombies mode to enrich the experience. This first-person shooter has garnered positive reception, and it’s clear who deserves credit for its triumph.
Who Made Black Ops 6?
Treyarch and Raven Software are responsible for creating and maintaining Call of Duty: Black Ops 6.
It’s not surprising that Treyarch is back in charge, given their long association with the Black Ops series. However, for the first time in the Call of Duty: Black Ops saga, another team, Raven Software, was involved in 2020’s Black Ops Cold War. Now, history has come full circle as Black Ops 6 is confirmed to be a joint effort between Treyarch and Raven Software.
Managing our extensive lineup, which includes the Liberty Falls and Terminus Zombies maps (and many more), online multiplayer, and other projects, requires a delicate balancing act. However, it’s important to note that not all team members are working on every project simultaneously.
Who Made the Black Ops 6 Campaign?
As a thrilled fan, let me share that I’ve learned it’s none other than Raven Software who are masterfully crafting the gripping, single-player storyline. This was officially announced by Activision Blizzard on June 9, in connection with the reveal of Black Ops 6’s Campaign: “The development of the Black Ops 6 Campaign is spearheaded by Raven Software.
In an interesting twist, you might be intrigued to learn that Black Ops Cold War followed a similar pattern. Raven Software was responsible for creating the Campaign, while Treyarch concentrated on developing the Zombies and seasonal multiplayer content. The decision was made to stick with what works, or “if it ain’t broke, don’t fix it”. Everything you encounter in Black Ops 6’s Campaign is a testament to Raven Software’s relentless work and innovation—and I must admit, the incredible Emergence mission didn’t disappoint!
Who Made Black Ops 6 Zombies?
The responsibility for Black Ops 6 Zombies lies with Treyarch, encompassing the existing two maps, along with additional maps set to be released in the future.
As a die-hard fan, I must say that Treyarch’s Zombies segment in Vanguard was undeniably leaner than usual, but this wasn’t due to a lack of appeal – it was more about the crunched development timeline that left essential elements like classic round-based Zombies on the cutting room floor. But fear not, because in Black Ops Cold War, we’re back to the glory days! Packed with potent Wonder Weapons, such as the fearsome Ray Gun, and a treasure trove of entertaining Easter Eggs, this game mode is once again front and center.
Who Made Black Ops 6 Multiplayer?
Treyarch is responsible for managing all aspects of the online multiplayer mode in Black Ops 6, which includes adjusting gameplay, creating new content, and maintaining the servers.
From Treyarch comes a twofold push, and given their experience of over two decades in the gaming industry, they’re well-equipped to manage both Zombies and multiplayer modes. They successfully handled this combination with Black Ops Cold War, so we can anticipate a vibrant year filled with engaging gameplay ahead.
