Summary

  • Bakugo plays a crucial role in the Final Saga against Shigaraki/All for One, showing growth and determination despite near-death experiences.

In October 2025, we can expect the long-awaited final season of “My Hero Academia” to premiere, with fans excitedly anticipating the unfolding of the final story arc. Among the many beloved characters in this series, Katsuki Bakugo stands out as a fan favorite and will undoubtedly play a pivotal role in the climactic confrontation against Tomura Shigaraki/All for One.

As a fervent reader myself, I can’t help but be smitten by Bakugo, one of the central characters who has won over many hearts. His captivating personality is a significant part of his allure. Much like Todoroki, Bakugo undergoes an incredible transformation throughout the series, and it’s evident that he aspires to reach the pinnacle as the greatest Hero by the story’s conclusion.

Bakugo’s Role in the Final Saga

He Almost Died But Never Gave Up

In the Final Saga, Bakugo played a crucial part, teaming up with his fellow students against All for One. Yet, just as anticipated, Shigaraki proved to be their most formidable foe thus far; at one point, it appeared that neither side would emerge victorious.

Shigaraki is aiming to employ his abilities to construct a “remodeled realm”, one where equality reigns and peace prevails, or so he claims in an attempt to persuade others to lay down their arms. However, Bakugo recalls that his companions are putting forth tremendous effort and giving their all. In response, Bakugo launches a formidable assault, thus demonstrating his progress and refuting Shigaraki’s words.

Despite the intense force of his attack, it wasn’t sufficient, leaving him severely injured. However, Bakugo persisted in exerting all his might to keep battling. In a heart-pounding and dramatic clash, Bakugo made one final attempt, but it seemed he had perished. Deku was taken aback by the sight of Bakugo sprawled on the ground, drenched in blood — yet, surprisingly, Katsuki wasn’t dead. Instead, he refused to yield.

In the end, the last battle turned out to be a deeply personal matter for For All one, prompting him to try to eliminate Bakugo. Fortunately, For All one was subdued, but Bakugo was critically wounded and lost consciousness. However, it’s important to note that while Bakugo played a central role in the climactic stages of the fight, the downfall of For All one was a collective victory by the team. Eventually, Bakugo recuperated from his wounds and resumed his regular life.

Initially, he discovered hidden strengths amidst the fight (which ultimately resulted in saving All Might), however, he was unable to fully exploit these newfound capabilities at that time.

Bakugo’s Rank At The End of the Series

As an onlooker, I witnessed the fierce battle unfold live on global screens, giving everyone a clear view of the actions taken by the Pro Heroes and Class A. Amongst them, Bakugo demonstrated significant progress, not just in terms of power amplification but also in his personal development.

Eight years after the story, the epilogue reveals that Dekz no longer possesses his One for All Quirk and has become a teacher instead. This decision left numerous fans dissatisfied, as they had hoped Dekz would ascend to Hero Number 1. Interestingly enough, neither Bakugou nor Shoto Todoroki achieved the top spot; Shoto is now Hero Number 2, while Bakugou ranks as Hero Number 15.

  1. Lemillion
  2. Shoto
  3. Mt. Lady
  4. Kamui Woods
  5. Best Jeanist
  6. Mirko
  7. Nejire Chan
  8. Wash
  9. Tentacole
  10. Phantom Thief
  11. Fat Gum
  12. Red Riot
  13. Ingenium
  14. Mudman
  15. Explosive Hero: Great Explosion Murder God Dynamight (Bakugo)

Many fans were taken aback by this ranking initially, but it’s essential to understand that the Japanese ranking system isn’t solely based on power or strength. Instead, it factors in their overall popularity, the number of cases they’ve successfully resolved, and the significance of these resolved cases as well.

Can Bakugo Still Become Number 1?

Bakugo strives to be the top-ranked hero, but his fiery character often hinders his progress. His outbursts aren’t solely due to his Quirks, but also because of his volatile behavior, which has earned him a negative reputation among others – despite the fact that his fierce determination against All for One was broadcast on TV. In the latest issue, he even lashed out at a fan attempting to capture him on camera, thus adding to the perception that he’s difficult to deal with, despite his immense power.

Bakugo should aim for the top position or at least climb a few rungs higher, but it will require him to put in significant effort to reach that pinnacle. Despite his impressive progress, there’s still much he needs to learn – and this could potentially inspire a new spin-off series.

You can watch “My Hero Academia” on Crunchyroll, with both subtitled and dubbed versions available in multiple languages. In certain regions, it might also be accessible on Netflix and other streaming platforms.
