Summary
- Hateno Village from Tears of the Kingdom is a beloved location due to its cozy, rustic feel.
- Hateno Village could become a staple like Kakariko, boasting charming visuals, vibrant community life, and memorable characters.
- The village’s potential return in future Zelda titles could reintroduce fan-favorite characters like Purah and enrich the series’ legacy.
In various installments of The Legend of Zelda series, spanning several decades, certain elements have been consistently reappearing. Among these recurring aspects are characters, story patterns, and locations that pop up again and again. One such recurring location is Kakariko Village, which often serves as a tranquil hub for Link’s quests. Despite undergoing design changes and assuming different roles throughout the series, Kakariko Village remains one of the most recognized recurrent features in The Legend of Zelda franchise. Given its enduring presence, it would be fitting to grant the same recognition to a new village introduced in Zelda: Breath of the Wild and later reprised in Tears of the Kingdom.
Among the various locales in “The Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom” and its predecessor, Hateno Village stands out as one of the most beloved. Its inviting, serene, and comforting ambiance, its distinctive focus on farming, and the unforgettable characters it has introduced make a compelling case for its inclusion in future “Zelda” games, much like Kakariko Village, which has been featured previously.
Tears of the Kingdom’s Hateno Village Deserves a Comeback
Hateno’s Warm, Calming, and Cozy Feel Makes It Unlike Any Other Village to Date
Among the many delightful locations that have graced the Legend of Zelda series for nearly 40 years, Hateno Village stands out as one of the most charming. Few towns in the entire series can compare to its endearing appeal. The reason for this lies in its picturesque green hills, stunning coastal vistas, and farm-like structures that give it a rustic yet inviting atmosphere. What sets Hateno Village apart is its sense of liveliness; it feels inhabited, with locals tending their farms, going about their daily routines, and participating in local customs. It’s likely that future versions of Hateno Village will aim to preserve the unique character that makes it so special.
In addition, it’s widely believed that the theme song of Hateno Village ranks among the finest from any locale within the Legend of Zelda series so far, beautifully conveying its coziness and appeal.
Hateno Is One of the Few Villages That Focuses on Agriculture
One distinctive feature that makes Hateno Village stand out among other locations in The Legend of Zelda series is its deep involvement in agriculture. While other towns have included agricultural aspects, none have showcased it as prominently as Hateno Village does. The village takes great pride in its wheat fields and vegetable patches, and the Kochi Dye Shop, run by Sayge, uses the local crops and plants to create dyes – a testament to the village’s agricultural resources. This emphasis on agriculture gives Hateno Village its welcoming and homely atmosphere, so any future versions of this village should strive to preserve these elements to uphold Hateno’s heritage.
Hateno’s Recurrance Would Be a Great Excuse for Purah to Return
Personally speaking, it’s been a joy to witness Hateno Village in the Zelda series. If by chance it reappears, just like how Kakariko Village has recurred, it would be fantastic to see characters like Purah return too! In Breath of the Wild, she managed the Hateno Ancient Tech Lab, but in Tears of the Kingdom, she’s risen through the ranks to lead Zonai tech research at Lookout Landing. Her transformation in TotK made her a beloved character among fans, and a revisit to Hateno could potentially bring Purah back into the spotlight as well.
In future games, it would be delightful to see Hateno Village again, as it has already earned a cherished spot among fans of The Legend of Zelda series. Much like Kakariko before it, Hateno Village is not only aesthetically pleasing but also feels authentic and inhabited, with its agricultural background and well-developed characters making it all the more appealing. From its farming lifestyle to the continued charm of its village life or even the possibility of reintroducing beloved characters like Purah, Hateno Village holds all the ingredients necessary to become a classic in the Zelda series.
