The second season of “Solo Leveling” has sparked lots of conversation due to its superb animation quality and thrilling fight scenes. There’s nothing quite as satisfying as watching Jin-Woo overpower formidable Dungeon monsters with his exceptional strength. For a considerable period, Jin-Woo managed to keep his abilities hidden from the world, which was essential given the numerous power-seeking individuals around at that time.
After surpassing a specific threshold, Jin-Woo no longer hesitated to disclose his abilities. Consequently, he chose to reassess his position by visiting the Hunter Association Headquarters. Unsurprisingly, Jin-Woo was unveiled as an S-Rank Hunter, making him the tenth from Korea to achieve this status. This newfound recognition has sparked curiosity among powerful Guilds who are eager to recruit him. In truth, two of the richest Guilds have already extended invitations to him. The question now is: Will Jin-Woo align with any Guild in Solo Leveling? If so, which one will it be?

Sung Jin-Woo Doesn’t Join Any Existing Guild
He Doesn’t Want To Become A Puppet Working For Money
Indeed, Jin-Woo participated in the game primarily to provide for his sister’s education and mother’s medical expenses. Yet, as he ascended to the S-Rank Hunter status, his motivations evolved. With all five major guilds eagerly offering vast sums of money to recruit him, Jin-Woo opted against joining any existing guild for two main reasons:
1. He wanted to maintain his independence and autonomy within the game.
2. He sought to create his own path and make a name for himself, rather than be part of an established group.
Go Gunhee informed Jin-Woo that the five dominant guilds barely keep a delicate equilibrium, and joining any of these would disrupt it significantly.
Jin-Woo understood that he wouldn’t have the freedom to embark on Dungeon Raids if he were part of a Guild. He values his independence for tackling high-ranking gates alone, which helps him advance in levels. Moreover, being surrounded by other S-Rank Hunters might expose the secret of Jin-Woo’s abilities.
These colossal entities are struggling to keep their equilibrium. However, once you become part of any of them, the delicate balance will crumble – Gunhee warns Sung Jin-Woo.
For the same reason, Jin-Woo declined Go Gunhee’s invitation to join the Hunter Association in Korea. Go Gunhee understood that with Jin-Woo on their side, one of the five major Guilds could bend or break the rules in Korea and potentially become the nation’s most powerful organization. To prevent this from happening, Go Gunhee asked the elite S-Rank Hunter to join the Korean Hunter Association instead. Although the proposition was tempting, Jin-Woo recognized that his life would significantly improve if he accepted Go Gunhee’s offer.
One issue with signing up for the Hunter Association is that Jin-Woo won’t have the chance to participate in Dungeon Raids, as only guilds are permitted to do so. Consequently, Jin-Woo turns down offers from all five major Korean guilds and also decides against joining the Hunter Association.
Jin-Woo Starts His Own Guild (Ahjin Guild)
It Becomes The World’s Strongest Guild
Guild Name | Ahjin |

Guild Master | Sung Jin-Woo |
Members | Sung Jin-Woo, Yoo Jinho, and Yoo Soohyun |
Location | Seoul, Korea |
Chapter | 121 |
Jin-Woo finds himself with no other option than to move forward, yet he struggles under the constant scrutiny of others. Nevertheless, being an E-Rank Hunter left him little room for negotiation, forcing him into Dungeon Raids alongside others. Now elevated to S-Rank, the Hunter Association takes his words seriously. Currently, Jin-Woo holds the tenth S-Rank position in Korea, but it won’t be long before he emerges as Korea’s most powerful Hunter.
In the popular Solo Leveling anime series, it seems that Jeju Island poses the most significant looming danger yet. The Ants residing there have already claimed the lives of high-ranking Hunters, causing even powerful figures like Choi Jong-In to harbor fear. As of now, no one is certain if anyone has the strength to vanquish the terror plaguing Jeju Island. However, Jin-Woo is poised to astound the world by becoming the hero in the “Jeju Island Arc”. This newfound recognition will prompt several Guilds from beyond Korea to attempt recruiting him. In an effort to keep their greatest asset within the country, Go Gunhee implores Jin-Woo not to depart. Leveraging this plea, Jin-Woo craftily asks for permission to embark on solo Dungeon raids.
Would you let me enter high-ranking gates all by myself in the future? – Sung Jin-Woo to Go Gunhee.
Although Jin-Woo was often a solo operative, he understood that joining a guild was essential for participating in Dungeon Raids. To satisfy this requirement, Jin-Woo chooses to establish the Ahjin Guild with Yoo Jinho and his cousin Yoo Soohyun as its initial members. Neither Yoo Soohyun nor Yoo Jinho had any enthusiasm for Dungeon Raids, despite being high-ranking Hunters. Since Jin-Woo was the guild master of Ahjin Guild, he could undertake Dungeon Raids on his own, and the Hunter Association would ignore this to prevent him from leaving the country.
Regardless of having just a single S-Rank Hunter among its ranks, Ahjin Guild swiftly rose to become the most formidable guild worldwide. The power of Jin-Woo alone was substantial enough to strengthen the guild, but his immense Shadow Army elevated it to unparalleled might. Even guilds boasting multiple S-Rank Hunters struggled to measure up against Ahjin Guild in terms of strength. As Go Gunhee points out in the manhwa, one would rather wager on Jin-Woo than a team of 20 A-Rank Hunters.
