As a die-hard Star Wars fan who’s weathered countless storms with the galaxy far, far away, I must say that Ubisoft’s latest update for Star Wars Outlaws has left me absolutely astounded. It’s been a bumpy ride, to say the least, but this 1.4.0 Title Update feels like a brand-new game.
The game titled “Star Wars Outlaws” encountered a rocky start in August. Besides receiving mediocre reviews from critics, its launch was marred by technical problems, ranging from minor visual glitches to game-halting bugs. One of the most notorious issues that surfaced during the release of “Star Wars Outlaws” compelled some PS5 players to erase their entire save file to resolve severe technical glitches, consequently resetting their game progress to its initial stage.
Star Wars: Outlaw has significantly evolved from its earlier days. Over the past few months, Ubisoft has diligently taken on board fan suggestions and rolled out numerous updates to enhance the gaming experience of Star Wars: Outlaw. However, all previous tweaks are overshadowed by the latest Title Update, which brings a multitude of fixes and new attributes that address many players’ major concerns.
Star Wars Outlaws’ Latest Update Makes Some Major Improvements
Star Wars Outlaws’ 1.4.0 Update Changes How Stealth Works
With the 1.4.0 Title Update for Star Wars Outlaws, a series of modifications have been made to the game, but the most significant alterations focus on the game’s contentious stealth system. In this latest update, many instances of stealth in Star Wars Outlaws will no longer lead to an instant mission failure if the player is detected. Moreover, players are now given the freedom to explore syndicate-controlled areas without being compelled to use stealth.
These adjustments coincide with the enhanced detection system in the updated version of “Star Wars Outlaws”. Now, players receive alerts when opponents start noticing them. Additionally, a visual cue is given to warn players if their intended takedown could trigger nearby guards. Furthermore, this latest Title Update includes several stealth improvements, including the fact that whistling no longer only attracts one guard.
Star Wars Outlaws Now Rewards Strategic Shooting
In the latest update for “Star Wars Outlaws,” there’s a new wave of enhancements to the combat system. Now, enemies have vulnerable spots, shooting which will lead to unique death animations based on the targeted body part. The handling of Kay’s blaster has been fine-tuned as well, with its recoil and spread adjusted for improved accuracy. Furthermore, headshots now inflict greater damage.
In the updated version of Star Wars Outlaws, the behavior of the AI enemies has been enhanced significantly. Now, they are likely to adopt a more strategic approach during combat, making frequent use of cover. Additionally, they will exhibit a stumbling effect when an explosion occurs in close proximity.
Kay can now holster two-handed weapons while on a speeder, and while climbing and grappling.
Star Wars Outlaws’ 1.4.0 Update Has Improved The Game’s Visuals
Among criticisms leveled at Star Wars Outlaws when it first debuted was the occasional blurriness of its graphics, particularly during dialog scenes within the game. The 1.4.0 Title Update addresses this problem by incorporating fresh facial animations for dialogue and enhancing the visual quality of cinematics.
Star Wars Outlaws Has Just Added Its First Story DLC

If the previous enhancements didn’t convince fans to embrace Star Wars Outlaws, perhaps its latest downloadable content will do the trick. The first story DLC for Star Wars Outlaws, titled ‘Wild Card’, features the characters Kay Vess and Lando Calrissian joining forces in a thrilling high-stakes Sabacc tournament.
