PlayStation Plus subscribers are eagerly awaiting April 15th, when the next selection of games will be added to the Extra tier. Many fans actually look forward to these Extra games even more than the monthly Essential games, because the Extra tier has consistently delivered high-quality titles for several months. While the Essential games have been somewhat inconsistent in 2026 – with April being a standout month and February’s Undisputed being a letdown – Extra has impressed players every time. Considering the Extra tier’s excellent track record in 2025, it’s highly likely that the games announced next week will be well-received.
PS Plus Extra is Sure to Offer at Least one Heavy Hitter in April 2026
PlayStation Plus Extra has consistently delivered strong games each month, starting with a great lineup in January featuring both Resident Evil Village and Like a Dragon: Infinite Wealth. Adding Resident Evil Requiem shortly after built excitement for the series and attracted horror fans. February brought the highly-rated PlayStation 5 exclusive Marvel’s Spider-Man 2, giving superhero fans a fantastic game to play. March continued this trend with popular titles like Warhammer 40,000: Space Marine 2 for co-op players, and Persona 5 Royal, which appealed to JRPG enthusiasts.
We’re only tracking the biggest titles added each month, even though PlayStation Plus Extra has included fantastic indie games like Neva and popular sports titles like Madden NFL 26 this year.

PlayStation Plus Extra has consistently delivered a strong lineup of games for over a year. While some might point to the month Battlefield 2042 was featured as a weaker period (despite the game getting much better), the service has generally been excellent for nine months straight. The bottom line is that PS Plus Extra rarely disappoints, consistently adding popular, high-quality games to keep players happy.
What Could PS Plus Extra’s April 2026 Additions Be?
Honestly, with how great PS Plus Extra has been lately, I’m really hoping they keep up the momentum. It’s just been hard to predict how they’ll do it – there doesn’t seem to be a consistent way they add new games. But the recent addition of Resident Evil Village right before Requiem came out made me wonder if they’re starting to plan things out a bit more. I’m already thinking about what they might add in April 2026 to build hype for an upcoming game – there are a few titles I’m keeping an eye on!
Several upcoming games could be good additions to the PlayStation Plus Extra service. First, Saros, a new game from the creators of Returnal, is on the horizon. Adding other classic Housemarque titles like Nex Machina alongside it would showcase the studio’s history. Similarly, LEGO Batman: Legacy of the Dark Knight could be promoted by including other LEGO Batman games. Finally, with 007: First Light launching soon, adding IO Interactive’s recent Hitman games could introduce Bond fans to the studio’s style. While these are just predictions based on a strategy used earlier in 2026, and there’s no confirmation they’ll be added, PS Plus Extra is guaranteed to get at least one exciting new game on April 15, 2026.
