Some fans of Battlefield 6 will have an early access to the game on August 7, which is two days before the global Open Beta, as part of Electronic Arts’ innovative marketing approach. EA has a history of unusual pre-release promotions and atypical launches, such as releasing more than 10 games simultaneously, a strategy that could be seen as “mass releasing.” Now, it appears EA is eager to experiment with its popular first-person shooter, Battlefield 6, in a fresh way.
As a dedicated Battlefield 6 fan, I was thrilled when I learned about the Open Beta’s structure, but initially found myself puzzled by the Early Access phase. Once the developer provided more details, it became evident that this would offer an exclusive sneak peek to a chosen few of us lucky gamers. What left some fans scratching their heads was why certain players were granted Early Access while others weren’t.
EA Gave Early Access Codes for Battlefield 6 to Three Groups of Players
On the Battlefield 6 reveal stream on July 31st, some chosen Twitch streamers handed out Early Access codes to their followers, giving fans a head start on playing the Open Beta. Later, EA confirmed that those who had signed up for Battlefield Labs prior to the game’s announcement would also get early access without any redemption codes needed. To add to that excitement, all EA Play Pro members were included in the Early Access group, ensuring they could experience the Battlefield 6 beta before everyone else.
Essentially, to employ a marketing approach, Electronic Arts (EA) restricted Early Access solely to those who had attended the announcement stream, were part of Battlefield Labs prior to the official reveal, or possessed an active EA Play Pro membership. Therefore, on August 7th, only a select number of players will participate in the Open Beta testing, despite the fact that Battlefield 6‘s preloading has already started.

In theory, you can gain access to Early Access only by acquiring an EA Play Pro subscription prior to August 7th. On the other hand, enthusiasts may potentially obtain the Open Beta client by redeeming an unused activation code, provided they manage to find an active one.
For fans of “Battlefield 6”, mark your calendars! The Early Access Open Beta starts on August 7 at 1:00 AM PT (8:00 AM UTC), and it lasts for a full day until the following day, around the same time. Just two days later, on August 9 at 1:00 AM PT (8:00 AM UTC), the First Weekend Open Beta begins. This event is open to everyone, regardless of platform or when you signed up for Battlefield Labs.
