November 2025 offered a diverse lineup of films in theaters worldwide. The month’s biggest hits included the anime feature Chainsaw Man – The Movie: Reze Arc, the horror sequel Black Phone 2, the adaptation Regretting You, the black comedy Bugonia, the biopic Springsteen: Deliver Me from Nowhere, and continuations of popular franchises like Predator: Badlands and Now You See Me: Now You Don’t. However, the biggest success of the month was undoubtedly Wicked: For Good.
Given that the first Wicked movie was a huge success in 2024 – ranking third domestically and fifth worldwide – it’s not surprising the sequel is also performing well. However, Wicked: For Good hasn’t received the same level of praise as the original, which might affect how much money it ultimately makes. Even so, Wicked: For Good is still set to be one of the most popular films of 2025.
We’ve used data from Box Office Mojo, and you can find links to the specific information below. Keep in mind that all numbers are approximate.
Wicked: For Good Had November 2025’s Biggest Domestic Box Office
A Fruitful Thanksgiving Weekend
So far, ‘Wicked: For Good’ has earned over $270 million in the United States, Canada, and Puerto Rico, making it the highest-grossing film domestically for the month. We’ll now take a closer look at how the movie has performed.
The movie Wicked: For Good opened on Friday to maximize its opening weekend audience. It earned an impressive $69.1 million on its first day, making it the highest-grossing single-day release of the month. Over the weekend, the film made a total of $147 million, and then an additional $91.8 million during the Thanksgiving holiday (November 26-30).
As a huge movie fan, I’ve been checking out the numbers for November 2025, and I wanted to share which films really dominated the domestic box office. These figures only reflect how much each movie earned during November itself, so it’s a good snapshot of what audiences were actually seeing that month.
- Wicked: For Good ($269,201,035)
- Zootopia 2 ($158,804,061)
- Predator: Badlands ($85,093,044)
- Now You See Me: Now You Don’t ($49,600,154)
- The Running Man ($34,251,240)
Wicked: For Good Will Be November 2025’s Highest-Grossing Movie When Domestic All-Time Earnings Are Calculated
With Slightly Stiff Competition From The Mouse
While Wicked: For Good has likely reached its highest point in popularity, it will probably stay in cinemas for a few more weeks. Looking at films released in November 2025, the movie has significantly outperformed all other releases, especially within the United States.
Following the success of Wicked: For Good, Zootopia 2 became the biggest movie in November 2025, continuing the trend of popular sequels. The charming comedy thriller has already earned over $160 million in the US, boosted by its release just before Thanksgiving. While Zootopia 2 is currently a huge box office success and will likely continue to perform well, its numbers are starting to decrease, meaning it probably won’t reach another $100 million domestically.
Despite this, Zootopia 2 might stay in theaters longer than anticipated, particularly with the holidays happening now.
Wicked: For Good’s Worldwide Box Office Return Is Good, But It Might Not Have The Same Appeal As A Family-Friendly Animated Film By Disney
International Audiences Are Showing Up But Not In Absolutely Huge Droves
While Wicked: For Good is doing well in the US, its performance internationally isn’t quite as strong, though this depends on how you look at it. Typically, big movies earn a bit more money overseas than they do at home, but there are always exceptions. Sometimes a film might fail in the US and Canada but become a hit elsewhere, like with 2016’s Warcraft.
Despite its initial success, the movie Wicked and its follow-up, Wicked: For Good, haven’t performed as well internationally at the box office.
- The 2024 movie earned more than $470 million domestically, while managing around $280 million internationally. The latter was somewhat low, but Wicked is still the highest-grossing musical adaptation of all time. Basically, we are just talking about different degrees of success.
- Wicked: For Good is at about $120 million internationally, and it has been available in most countries since November 19 or 20th.
Is The International Box Office Just Down At The Moment? Or Is The Discrepancy Exclusive To Wicked: For Good?
Let’s look at how the top movies from November 2025 are currently performing at the box office. We’ll use the earnings data reported by Box Office Mojo on December 3rd, and round all figures down to the nearest million.
| Movie (Domestic Release Day) | Domestic Box Office | International Box Office | Worldwide Box Office (Dome |
|---|---|---|---|
| Wicked: For Good (November 21) | $271 Million | $121 Million | $395 Million |
| Zootopia 2 (November 26) | $163 Million | $426 Million | $589 Million |
| Predator: Badlands (November 7) | $85 Million | $89 Million | $174 Million |
| Now You See Me: Now You Don’t (November 14) | $50 Million | $137 Million | $187 Million |
| The Running Man (November 14) | $34 Million | $26 Million | $60 Million |
The data indicates that movies often earn more money in the US than in other countries, but a difference of 50% is significant. The first Wicked movie had a similar gap, and the sequel is following that pattern. Zootopia 2 is doing particularly well internationally compared to Wicked: For Good, likely because animated Disney films generally appeal to a broader audience than live-action musical sequels.
Will Wicked: For Good Surpass Wicked’s All-Time Earnings?
Unlikely, But Anything Is Possible
As a huge fan of the first Wicked movie, I’m still trying to figure out how the sequel, Wicked: For Good, will do in the long run. It definitely had a bigger opening weekend, but honestly, that was mostly because everyone loved the first film and was eager to see what happened next. While the initial excitement was huge, the somewhat lukewarm reviews for Wicked: For Good make me worry it might not have the same lasting impact.
The movie Wicked opened in the United States on November 22nd and earned over $20 million domestically by December 1st. While Wicked: For Good premiered on November 21st, it brought in just under $14 million at the domestic box office by November 30th. This represents a slight decrease in earnings, but it’s still a solid performance.
