Wild New 100-Player Steam Battle Royale is Free to Try Right Now

I just checked out this free-to-play battle royale on Steam called *Final Sentence*, and it’s pretty different! It’s a 100-player free-for-all like you’d expect, but instead of just aiming and shooting, you actually need to be a fast and accurate typist to survive. Seriously, your typing skills are key!

Battle royale games are incredibly popular, and their success doesn’t seem to be slowing down. Even the latest *Battlefield* game includes a battle royale mode, allowing up to 100 players to compete. While Final Sentence shares this aspect, that’s where the similarities end.

Final Sentence Offers Unique Twist on Battle Royale

Final Sentence is a new PC game where up to 100 players compete by typing quickly and accurately. Each player starts in a dark room with a typewriter, a clock, and an executioner. The goal is to type provided lines without errors. Make three mistakes, and you face Russian Roulette – the executioner will attempt to shoot you. Survive, and you can continue; get shot, and you’re out. However, only the first player to finish typing all the lines wins – speed is crucial! Once a winner is determined, everyone else is eliminated.

You can now download a free demo of *Final Sentence* on Steam. Keep in mind that matches currently support up to 40 players. Early gameplay shows good participation as players test their typing skills in this new PC game. Currently, players can’t communicate with each other, which actually enhances the tension – all you hear is the sound of opponents being knocked out.

Typing games aren’t for everyone, but they’re surprisingly popular, especially when combined with horror. A well-known example is *The Typing of the Dead*, which turned the classic shooter *The House of the Dead* into a typing-based game. More recently, *Blood Typers* uses typing for everything from moving around to collecting items. *Dead Letter Dept.* is another new horror typing game where players type to stay alive. It’s yet to be seen if *Final Sentence* can find its own audience alongside these titles.
