Will Battlefield 6 Battle Royale Be Free To Play?

We’re really excited for the launch of the battle royale mode in Battlefield 6! Building on the ideas from Firestorm and Hazard Zone, this new mode is a big deal. We’re finding out if it will be free to play, what it will cost to access, or if there are any other costs involved.

Honestly, battle royale feels a little past its prime in 2025, but it’s still massively popular! Millions of us are still jumping into these huge maps, trying to survive the shrinking zones of electricity, storms, and gas. We don’t yet know if Battlefield 6 will include a battle royale mode, or if that mode will be a separate, free-to-play game like Call of Duty: Warzone. There haven’t been any announcements or leaks about this yet.

Just a quick reminder: we still don’t know if the battle royale will be free for everyone, or only for those who buy the next Battlefield game.

Warzone is a free-to-play game within the Call of Duty franchise, available as a separate download. It remains to be seen if the new battle royale mode will be as successful.
