Will Pity Carry Over in P5X

In “Persona5: The Phantom X,” there will be several options for players to draw from, including weapon, gold, and platinum tickets. Each option features its unique Pity system, meaning that if you consistently pull from the same one, you’ll eventually receive a 5-Star reward.

Certain banners in the game offer improved chances of obtaining specific characters for a temporary period, such as the initial Joker banner when the game launched. After acquiring your desired character, players often ponder whether this advantage persists on subsequent banners or if they should begin hoarding their tickets and Meta Crystals immediately; here’s what we currently know about it.

Does Pity Carry Over in P5X

Based on our observations of the Chinese version of the game and feedback from players on that server, it appears that Pity should transfer to similar types of banners, such as character-specific platinum offers. This feature hasn’t been introduced yet in the global release, but there have been no indications that it will be removed. In fact, this mechanism is quite standard across most gacha games at this point.

If you’re worried about your Progress not being lost, feel free to keep your Platinum Tickets and Meta Crystals until the next advertisement appears, as there’s no limit on how many you can store for either. Additionally, you can check the screen of the current banner to see how much time is remaining before it ends, helping you decide if you should attempt to reach Pity once more and perhaps acquire that character within the given timeframe.

Is There a Soft Pity System in P5X?

It appears, at this moment, there doesn’t seem to be a Soft Pity system implemented in the game. Instead, many players find themselves reaching the maximum hard pity (80 pulls) more frequently than not. In my experience, I’ve needed 80 pulls three times to obtain three out of the four 5-star characters I currently possess. From what I’ve gathered from online player discussions, it seems that acquiring a unique character often requires spending the full 80 pulls on the platinum banner.

Obtaining that particular character you’re after can be challenging when aiming for hard pity, but by saving and utilizing your Meta Crystals exclusively on the premium banner, you’ll generally have enough opportunity to secure one or two hard pity draws. On a platinum banner, every five-star pull comes with a 50% chance of featuring the main character, so making two pulls within the timeframe usually results in obtaining the desired character more frequently.
