Will We Finally Get a State of Decay 3 Release Date at the Xbox Games Showcase?

Yesterday’s announcement revealed that the upcoming Xbox Games Showcase is slated for June 8th. I’ve been eagerly anticipating news regarding the release date of State of Decay 3, and I hope this event will shed some light on its status. I’ve been waiting a long time to learn more about it.

At the moment, there isn’t any specified year of release for the game. There are whispers suggesting that State of Decay 3 might come out in 2026, but neither Undead Labs nor Xbox Game Studios have made an official announcement about it yet.

Take Me To The Apocalypse

In my opinion, State of Decay 3 has been awaited for far too long. I’m a dedicated fan of the series and absolutely love the open-world aspect that allows me to choose a home, develop it, and survive a zombie apocalypse alongside a group of characters who face permanent death. It delivers everything I crave in an end-of-the-world, undead adventure.

By September 2024, I learned that Undead Labs made the tough decision to cease support for State of Decay 2 to fully devote themselves to the sequel. This gives them nearly a year to perfect the game before its unveiling at the Xbox Games Showcase in June 2025. As a fan, I’m excited about all the improvements they’ll bring!

The previous year saw the Xbox Games Showcase unveil an incredible trailer for State of Decay 3, a revelation that myself and numerous enthusiasts eagerly embraced.

So far, details about State of Decay 3 are scarce; all we know for certain is that it’s on its way. The trailer unveiled last year provided some hints, but they were mostly in line with our assumptions regarding the game, including formidable undead adversaries, vehicular battles, and multiplayer functionality.

I’m desperate to know when State of Decay 3 will be launched, and I’m keeping my fingers crossed that some information will be revealed during the forthcoming Xbox Games Showcase. It’s been nearly seven years since the last State of Decay game came out.
