Wit Studio Is Officially Going To Fix One Piece Forever

This article contains spoilers from One Piece.

Okay, so it’s no longer a secret – One Piece is getting a brand new anime adaptation, and it’s being handled by Wit Studio! When the news first dropped, a lot of fans, myself included, were pretty unsure about it. Honestly, we were all wondering why One Piece needed another anime when Toei Animation was already doing a great job. Some people even thought it was just a move to make more money, and I get why they felt that way!

Nearly two years after it was announced, the new One Piece anime being made by Wit Studio is still in the works, and it’s clear everyone involved is deeply enthusiastic about it. While One Piece is widely considered the best manga ever created, its current anime adaptation hasn’t quite lived up to its potential. A new version is needed, and Wit Studio’s One Piece aims to address the biggest issues – specifically, the show’s pacing and animation quality.

Wit Studio’s One Piece Anime Will Fix The Pacing Forever

I’ve been watching the development of Wit Studio’s One Piece anime, and it looks like it’s going to be incredible. From what I’ve seen of the production process, the team is really focusing on even the smallest details. It’s clear they’re putting a lot of passion into this, and it has the potential to be one of the best anime adaptations ever made.

The lengthy production time suggests this anime will be incredibly popular. It doesn’t have to be flawless across the board, though. In fact, One Piece just needs improvements in two key areas, and if this new anime delivers on those, it will be a massive success.

One of the main issues with the current One Piece anime is its slow pace. It often only covers one chapter of the manga per episode, and sometimes even less. Adding to the problem, some episodes include lengthy recaps—up to six minutes long—which feels outdated. The upcoming anime by Wit Studio aims to address this by covering three to four chapters per episode and structuring the series into shorter seasons, likely around 24 to 26 episodes long.

Wit Studio’s The One Piece Will Also Enhance The Animation

One major improvement the upcoming Wit Studio anime will make to One Piece is the animation quality. While the current animation isn’t bad, it’s inconsistent, and some episodes just aren’t as visually appealing as others.

However, the biggest issue with the anime was a period of noticeably weaker episodes, particularly during the Fishman Island and Dressrosa arcs. The animation quality in some of those episodes was really poor. Thankfully, the animation studio Wit Studio is expected to deliver a much more consistently high-quality product.

One Piece Will Be A Flawless Anime After The Wit Adaptation Drops

The upcoming One Piece anime by Wit Studio is shaping up to be exceptional, with promises of improved pacing, stunning animation, and meticulous attention to detail. Many believe it will be a truly outstanding anime. Plus, it will have a contemporary sound design, moving away from the outdated sound effects still used in the Toei Animation version.

If the new adaptation remains faithful to the creator’s original ideas, it will likely have less censorship, which is a major benefit. Overall, it promises to be a significant improvement over existing versions and deliver the adaptation that One Piece fans have always wanted.

The newest chapter of Eiichiro Oda’s One Piece, Chapter 1167, will be available in this week’s Weekly Shonen Jump. It officially releases on November 30, 2025. In Japan, it will be released at midnight on Monday, which is 11:00 AM Eastern Time or 8:00 AM Pacific Time. Fans can read it for free on Manga Plus and the Shonen Jump app.
