This post contains spoilers for One Piece.
The announcement of the One Piece remake created a lot of excitement among fans. It came as a complete surprise, and many were shocked to hear about a remake while the original anime was still being produced.
Since the remake was announced, Wit Studio hasn’t released many updates, which has left fans eager for more information. While it looks like the remake won’t be available for a while, Wit Studio’s next series is expected to premiere on streaming platforms very soon.
Wit Studio’s Next Project Is Not One Piece
Many fans are wondering what Wit Studio is creating besides One Piece. Their next project is Agents of the Four Seasons, a fantasy anime by the same creators of the popular and highly-regarded series, Violet Evergarden. Because Violet Evergarden was so well-received, fans are particularly excited about this new show. If you’re unfamiliar with the source material – the web novel or manga – you can find a summary below to learn more about the story.
In the fantasy world of Agents of the Four Seasons, some people have the power to control the seasons. The story follows these agents – based in Japan – and their protectors. A key plot point revolves around the mysterious disappearance of the Spring season’s controller and the efforts to bring them back.
The anime’s story seems promising, but we’ll have to wait and see if it truly captivates viewers. While a specific release date isn’t available yet, it’s scheduled to premiere as part of the Spring 2026 season, likely in April of that year.
One Piece Remake Release Is Still A Few Years Away
- One Piece remake is being produced by Wit Studio
- The anime has no release date yet
As a huge One Piece fan, I’m starting to worry about the remake! It’s looking less and less likely we’ll see it in 2026, or even 2027, honestly. Wit Studio hasn’t given us a new trailer or even a single key visual, which tells me it’s still a long way off. They did show off some cool character and island designs from the East Blue, but that’s been it – total radio silence since then. We were all hoping for something at Jump Festa, but no luck. One Piece Day is the next event where we might get an update, but I think we should all temper our expectations for now. It’s probably best to just try and forget about the remake for a little while until we actually hear something concrete.
Why The One Piece Anime Remake Was Needed
A major complaint about the remake was that it felt unnecessary, especially since the original anime was still ongoing. Some fans wished Wit Studio would work on adapting other series that hadn’t received an anime yet. However, the studio president explained the remake was intended to attract new viewers. The original One Piece anime had issues with pacing – episodes often felt stretched out, particularly during story arcs – and this discouraged many people from getting into the series.
Viewers struggled with the slow pace of the anime, as a single 20-minute episode only covered a small portion of the original manga. Most anime series adapt several chapters per episode, making them easier to watch. The upcoming remake will fix this by creating episodes that move the story along more quickly. This will also shorten the overall series length, making it less daunting for new fans – currently, there are over 1100 episodes, which can be intimidating – and hopefully attract a wider audience.
The One Piece Remake Will Solve A Lot Of Problems
The upcoming One Piece remake by Wit Studio aims to deliver consistently high-quality animation throughout the entire series. Currently, the animation quality of the original One Piece only improved significantly when it reached the Wano Country arc. Wit Studio wants to ensure the remake has excellent animation from the very beginning, making it more appealing to today’s viewers. This demonstrates that the remake isn’t unnecessary – it’s a worthwhile project that will enhance the overall experience.
