Initially, Capcom had planned to conduct a CEDEC panel centered around Monster Hunter Worlds and optimization techniques, according to Automaton’s report. However, due to continuing apprehensions, this panel has been called off.
Recently, Capcom, a gaming company, released a statement (in Japanese) concerning harassment towards their employees. Although the details were not fully disclosed, it seems quite clear that Capcom was referring to upset Monster Hunter World: Iceborne players who have been making personal attacks or threats indirectly.
Capcom acknowledges and values feedback from its customers, yet when faced with cyber-attacks and threats, they promise a suitable response. In more serious instances, this could lead to legal intervention.
As a gamer, let me tell you about my experience with Monster Hunter Wilds. While it ran smoothly on my PlayStation 5 during our review, the transition to PC has been less than ideal. Regrettably, I’ve found that it continues to struggle on several PC setups.
I’ve been absolutely thrilled with the latest additions of formidable monsters to battle in this game, but recently, it seems like a series of updates have left players frustrated. On Steam, the game has received an overwhelmingly negative response lately, and if you look at the mixed overall rating, you can see why. Predictably, most of these reviews focus on the game’s performance issues.
It appears that Capcom has not directly stated that the talk was cancelled due to concerns over inciting more harassment, but the situation seems clear. Whatever Capcom says about optimizing their games currently is likely to face harsh criticism from disappointed PC gamers who have queries regarding Capcom’s optimization methods.
As a gamer, I can attest that Capcom hasn’t always nailed PC ports, but the issues with Monster Hunger: Worldwide (Wilds) have been particularly challenging. When Monster Hunter World debuted on PC, it wasn’t perfect either, but it smoothed out much quicker than Wilds has. In comparison, the latest addition to the series, Monster Hunter Rise, which was initially a Nintendo Switch game, generally ran quite smoothly.
In a different phrase, it goes like this: Compared to Dragon’s Dogma 2, Capcom’s initial release, the game has not been as successful, with its PC version particularly struggling. One can only wish that sales for Wilds, which is one of Capcom’s top-selling games, will steer clear of similar issues by continuously improving its performance. It’s worth noting that this game was launched towards the end of February, and time doesn’t wait for anyone.
