As a seasoned gamer with a soft spot for Arkane Studios and a knack for retro sci-fi themes, I can hardly contain my excitement for WolfEye Studios’ new first-person action RPG! Having grown up playing Dishonored and Prey, the prospect of diving back into that universe, albeit under a fresh coat of paint, is simply irresistible.
Under the banner of WolfEye Studios, renowned for its roster of ex-Arkane Studios developers and the creators of Weird West, they have recently revealed details about their upcoming venture: an immersive, first-person action role-playing game.
On August 8, Raphaël Colantonio, one of the co-founders of Arkane Studios, shared that their game has moved beyond the pre-production stage and is now actively being developed during the production phase.
As a fervent admirer, I can’t contain my excitement about the upcoming game, which is yet to be titled but promises to be an epic new journey rooted in the genealogy of past Arkane productions. It’s set to offer a sprawling, immersive environment, the freedom to play it my way, and a rich, role-playing experience that delves deep into its world.

Player Feedback Is Key As WolfEye Builds New Sci-Fi Epic
At this year’s Game Developers Conference (GDC), the studio hinted at the title by showing a snapshot of their office whiteboard, displaying “Retro Sci-fi” and “First Person.” This implies that the game could possibly incorporate a vintage aesthetic with science fiction elements.
WolfEye Studios is organizing a “private alpha event with restricted access” for their forthcoming game. This exclusive gathering will offer players the opportunity to share their insights, helping shape the game’s development process.
Players eager to participate can register for the alpha test directly on the WolfEye Studios’ official website. This studio is spearheaded by Raphaël Colantonio, a co-creator of the game ‘Dishonored’. The team comprises members from both Arkane Lyon and Arkane Austin.
Colantonio had this to say about the upcoming project:
“Exciting news! Our upcoming game is currently being developed and falls under the category of first-person action RPGs. If you’ve enjoyed previous games I’ve worked on like Dishonored and Prey, or are simply an RPG enthusiast, you’ll find a familiar atmosphere here. As we search for the perfect publishing partner, we aim to engage our community early through a limited private Alpha testing phase in 2025. We can hardly contain our excitement to share more about this project with our fans!”
As a passionate fan, I can’t help but admire Arkane Studios, renowned creators behind the captivating isometric 3rd person action RPG, Weird West. This extraordinary game was unveiled at The Game Awards in 2019 and soon garnered attention, ultimately earning a nomination for “Best Role-Playing Game of the Year” at the 26th D.I.C.E Awards.
