Women's Champion Nia Jax Talks Latest WWE Run, WWE 2K24 Debut, and More

As a WWE fan, I can wholeheartedly agree that it’s an exciting time to be part of the WWE family under Triple H’s regime. The creative freedom and support for new ideas make the work environment vibrant and encouraging. It feels like we can truly thrive without fear of repercussions.

The video game WWE 2K24 has unveiled its Global Superstar Bundle, incorporating new characters such as WWE Women’s Champion Nia Jax, tag team champion Jade Cargill (alongside Bianca Belair), Michelle McCool, Carlito, Kairi Sane, Lyra Valkyria, and Dragon Lee. This bundle bolsters the game with an array of powerful characters and fan favorites like Nia Jax, who makes her seventh consecutive appearance in a mainline WWE 2K series game.

Prior to her highly-anticipated WWE premiere, Game Rant recently interviewed the self-proclaimed “Queen of the Ring” to discuss her current WWE journey, beginning from her comeback a year ago, up until collaborating with Triple H in this new era. Naturally, we had some questions about her upcoming appearance in the DLC version of WWE 2K24, such as her overall rating, her thoughts on being part of a video game, and whom she desires to witness wielding the Annihilator against players. Please note that this interview has been revised for clarity and conciseness.

On the Road with WWE Again

Hello, Nia! It’s fantastic to acknowledge you as a big admirer. Your recent performance is nothing short of cinematic, and I can hardly wait to follow the course your narrative takes, particularly the development or potential future conflicts between you and Tiffany Stratton.

A: Good heavens! Tiffany and I will never have a falling out. I trust her implicitly; she won’t deceive me. It’s puzzling why you keep suggesting otherwise. Please, cease spreading negativity. We’re in this together, aiming for all the success. Tiffany is my treasure. She’ll always stand by me.

It’s never happened in wrestling. Never, not once, and never will.

Perhaps they might not be fully aware, but only you and she share a unique connection. I trust that she would never break that trust with me.

A: Over the course of the last year, I’ve been working with the WWE again. If I were to think about this past year in terms of my professional journey, what immediately stands out is… (insert answer here)

Looking back at the past, it seems to have flown by quite quickly. It’s hard to believe I’ve been away for so long, which is strange, but in the style of WWE, you’re always on tour, always moving. Time seems to pass in an instant.

As a gamer, let me tell you, stepping up to the main event at PLE in Perth against Rhea was a monumental moment for me. Battling it out with Becky on Day One was fantastic. The whole Queen of the Ring Tournament? It’s hard to put into words just how incredible it was. And then, without missing a beat, moving straight into SummerSlam and claiming the title? Incredible!

Reflecting on it now, I must admit it’s quite impressive and exciting. It’s been one thing after another, making it challenging to take a step back and fully appreciate it all. However, the memorable instances definitely leave an impact on me.

Question: With numerous admirers, talents, and apparently the entire world praising Triple H and the Triple H era due to the multiple transformations in the WWE product, what’s the most significant advantage you’ve noticed while collaborating with WWE during this recent phase?

Wasn’t Triple H once a promising newcomer in our WWE? Now, he’s climbed his way up through the ranks, gaining insight from every angle: as a talent, traveling to various towns, and now leading our creative team. I guess you could say he’s an inspiration for us all backstage. In my opinion, Triple H, or Hunter, has a unique perspective on things. He values input from the talents, considers their ideas, and allows us more freedom to experiment. He provides us with greater flexibility.

It feels as if we’re apprentices in a sense, allowed to explore our individual paths within the ring, while he nurtures our exceptional abilities and imparts valuable knowledge for improvement. I find this approach truly engaging. I respect the past leadership, which had its own merits, but under Triple H’s guidance, I appreciate the freedom to experiment with my on-screen persona, growing it further with his mentorship.

haven’t I come across the same sentiments before? It’s an incredibly exciting period for WWE fans, and I can only imagine it would be just as thrilling to work there.

A: Absolutely! You’re more open-minded about trying new things and stepping out of your comfort zone, knowing that it’s not considered a negative thing. This allows you to flourish a bit, without constantly worrying that something might go wrong. Indeed.

Nia Jax Returns to Video Games with WWE 2K24’s Global Superstars Pack

Women's Champion Nia Jax Talks Latest WWE Run, WWE 2K24 Debut, and More

A: In relation to the forthcoming WWE 2K24 Global Superstars Pack, it seems I’m returning to action with an overall rating of 86. Could you tell me what this score represents in terms of my abilities within the game?

A: That’s BS. I feel as though I should be high 90s. Duh. I’m the Queen of the Ring. Yeah, I won the Queen of the Ring Tournament and now I am the Women’s Champion, so I feel as though it should be up in the high 90s. I don’t know how this rating system works, but I am definitely going to have a conversation with 2K about this because it’s BS.

As a fan, reflecting on my seventh appearance in a WWE video game, I can’t help but feel a sense of pride and nostalgia. Seeing myself in these games, and performing moves like The Annihilator, is truly surreal. It offers a unique perspective, allowing me to relive moments from my career and imagine what it must be like for fans to experience them. It’s an incredible feeling that I’m grateful to be a part of.

The idea that I’m actually in a video game still seems unbelievable to me. When I first realized, “Wow, I’m in a video game,” it was hard to comprehend. However, it’s quite amazing now since my niece and nephew are old enough to recognize me. Their friends might boast about playing as my character in WWE 2K and defeating someone, which makes me feel proud. Their pride in me makes being a part of these games an honor because 2K always does a great job representing me.

Do you feel like…

Even though I should have a higher rating! …but that’s fine…

Q: Do you feel like they nailed the move? Does the Annihilator look right?

B: The Annihilator seems quite impressive, let me be honest. The game certainly lives up to its reputation. It’s a tough blow for anyone unfortunate enough to receive it.

As a fan of my own character, Nia Jax, in WWE 2K24, I’d be thrilled to see someone unleash the power of the Annihilator on… [the opponent of their choice] first!

A: It’d be great if the Annihilator were used on Naomi, given her disrespect towards me since my return. Truth be told, I’d relish seeing Bianca, Rhea Ripley, Liv Morgan, and many others experience the same fate. Frankly, everyone deserves a taste of the Annihilator. After all, some have felt it in reality, and they know what it means.
