According to a recent report by Bloomberg, the gaming sector of Warner Bros. is having difficulty achieving new victories and has decided to relaunch its Wonder Woman game.
As reported by Bloomberg, Warner Bros.’ gaming division has faced challenges this year, racking up approximately $300 million in revenue from games like Suicide Squad: Kill the Justice League, Harry Potter: Quidditch Champions, and MultiVersus.
It appears that the studio has decided to restart the Wonder Woman project, with reports suggesting it’s already spent more than $100 million on its production so far.
A major project for the company, a video game inspired by Wonder Woman, has faced difficulties in coming together, as reported by individuals with knowledge of the situation. Around a year ago, the game underwent a reboot and changed directors. The cost of this game is already over $100 million, according to those who requested anonymity when discussing confidential information, and it remains several years away from release, if it sees the light of day at all.
Based on interviews with about two dozen employees who worked at Warner Bros. during Haddad’s leadership, there was a perceived lack of a clear, unified vision which resulted in a series of chaotic reorganizations. During this period, Warner Bros. found itself pursuing fleeting trends and squandering valuable development time. This disorganized approach had a significant impact on the once-respected studios under the Warner Bros. banner, causing damage to their reputations, leading to staff departures, and burning through hundreds of millions of dollars.
As per the latest updates, it appears that Rocksteady Studios might be planning a brand new single-player title featuring Batman, though its release may still be several years down the line.
Last year, whispers about Rocksteady possibly working on a new Batman project emerged, originating from the reliable source known as Shpeshal Nick.
He replied to a tweet about fan’s desired developers for the next Batman game, saying, “I’m not certain which studio is set to make people’s dreams come true, but I’ve heard that Rocksteady is returning to do so.” He also jokingly added, “I believe Sony is trying to cash in on it as well, chucklingly referring to it as ‘money-hatting’ it.
