The 21st anniversary event is now underway in World of Warcraft! Players can enjoy returning activities and rewards from last year, plus a brand-new transmog set called the Loyal Watchman. The celebration runs until December 7th, offering benefits like experience boosts and a Timewalking raid of Blackrock Depths, so don’t miss out!
When World of Warcraft launched on November 23, 2004, it revolutionized online gaming. Almost 21 years later, it remains incredibly popular, currently featuring the Legion Remix event and preparing to release the final update for World of Warcraft: The War Within on December 2nd.
World of Warcraft 21st Anniversary Celebration Highlights
To mark its 21st anniversary, World of Warcraft is hosting a special in-game event! The Bronze Celebration is back in Tanaris, near the Caverns of Time, and will run until December 7th. Players can enjoy returning activities like challenging world bosses, Korrak’s Revenge, the Blackrock Depths raid, Chromie’s Codex, Guest Relations, and various smaller events like Mount Mania and storytelling – offering plenty of fun for everyone.
- WoW anniversary experience and reputation buff (+10%, +20% with Celebrate Good Fun! quest)
- Activities
- World Bosses
- Korrak’s Revenge
- Blackrock Depths raid
- Venue mini-games, including Mount Mania and Fashion Frenzy
- Guest Relations secret-finding quests
- Chromie’s Codex scenario
- Rewards
- Revamped Tier 2 armor sets
- PvP-themed weapons and armor
- Recent anniversary rewards
- NEW Loyal Watchman transmog ensemble
- Enthusiast titles
- NEW Khaz Algar Enthusiast title
Fans can earn lots of cool rewards! This includes updated Tier 2 armor sets from the 20th anniversary celebration, plus popular items like the Coldflame set and Lil’ Doomy, which are making a return. You can also get special anniversary titles. This year, we’re adding two new rewards: the Loyal Watchman armor and the Khaz Algar Enthusiast title. These cost 230 and 100 Timewarped Badges, respectively.
I’m so excited for this event! Everyone gets a 10% boost to experience and reputation, which is awesome, and you can even double it to 20% daily by doing a quick quest with Yllana. As you play, you’ll earn special tokens for the anniversary event and Timewarped Badges. The best part? They’re limiting how many anniversary tokens you can get each week across all your characters, so you don’t have to stress about playing everything on multiple toons – just focus on having fun!
What Didn’t Return From the World of Warcraft 20th Anniversary Celebration Last Year?
- Legacy anniversary rewards (Obsidian Worldbreaker, Lil’ Nefarian, etc.)
- Classic Timewalking
- Normal and Heroic Blackrock Depths, Timewarped Relic Coffer Key vendors (may be added later)
The 21st anniversary event for World of Warcraft doesn’t have everything players enjoyed last year. Specifically, two vendors, Storekeeper Reginald and Bobadormu, are missing from the celebration area. Reginald sold older anniversary rewards – like the Obsidian Worldbreaker, Lil’ Nefarian, and the Baby Blizzard Bear – that haven’t been available for years and likely won’t return until the 25th anniversary. As for Bobadormu, you can now find them in Stormwind and Orgrimmar during Classic Timewalking events, which are happening regularly, instead of only during the anniversary.
The event is also missing content from the Blackrock Depths raid. While a reworked version of the original dungeon is included, only the Looking For Research (LFR) difficulty is currently accessible. The Normal and Heroic difficulties, along with the weekly quest and the vendors selling Timewarped Relic Coffer Keys, are not available. It’s unclear whether this is intentional or if these will be added later, perhaps after the weekly reset on Tuesday.
While the anniversary event for World of Warcraft Classic is smaller this year, players will soon get a boost in World of Warcraft. From November 18th to December 9th, characters in Mists of Pandaria Classic will earn 50% more experience towards level 90, making it easier to prepare for the upcoming Thunder King phase, expected in December. This experience boost is automatically applied, but players who prefer a more relaxed leveling pace can disable it by visiting any innkeeper in major cities or Dalaran.
