As a seasoned World of Warcraft player with years of Brewfest celebrations under my belt, let me tell you, this event is not to be missed! With a heart full of nostalgia and a mug always at hand, I eagerly await the return of the Brewfest festivities.
Since the introduction of “The Burning Crusade” expansion, Brewfest has been a celebrated event within the realm of “World of Warcraft.” Over time, this annual festival has experienced numerous adjustments. Among these changes, the most conspicuous ones occurred when allied races started setting up their own booths during Brewfest. The festivities for Brewfest commenced on September 20th and will conclude on October 6th.
Even with the various updates, some aspects of this year’s Brewfest remain consistent. Essentially, it’s about savoring digital beverages and collecting Brewfest Prize Tokens to receive rewards. In the expansion called The War Within, there haven’t been drastic alterations to the event, but here’s a rundown of what you can anticipate as you join in on Brewfest.
Brewfest Activities
At Brewfest, the primary location is open-air, situated outside both Orgrimmar and Ironforge. Upon your arrival at the festivities, you’ll encounter an NPC providing a quest to obtain a complimentary brew. Within this zone, you’ll find vendors offering food, drinks, as well as quests that reward Brewfest Prize Tokens upon completion.
Ram Racing
During Brewfest, instead of regular mount activities, there’s an unusual one – riding rams, which is distinct because special Ram Racing Reins are required to boost their speed. However, keep in mind that your stamina plays a significant role; if it hits 100, the ram moves sluggishly until it recovers. Don’t forget to finish all non-daily quests related to ram racing, as they grant access to a quest that rewards you with a Brewfest mug.
Party Crashers
Every thirty minutes during Brewfest, marauding groups will attempt to swipe all the alcohol. In previous iterations of Brewfest, players were required to drink beer and then hurl mugs at the intruders. Presently, you can simply eliminate them instead. If you successfully repel the invaders, a reward item is yours which can be traded for 10 Brewfest Prize Tokens.
Brewfest Chowdown
A new feature at Brewfest is called the Brewfest Chowdown Challenge. During this game, the objective is to consume ten servings of Bratwurst before your fellow players do. To win, you must ensure not to overfill the bar or else you’ll be stunned for three seconds. If you emerge victorious, you’ll receive a Chowdown Champion Token. Accumulate five of these tokens to purchase a Brewfest Chowdown Trophy.
Daily Quests
After wrapping up all tasks related to ram racing, you’re eligible to escort a ram into either Ironforge or Orgrimmar and elevate one of the breweries there. Also, remember that Valdrakken offers two daily quests, whereas currently, no daily quests are available in Khaz Algar.
Coren Direbrew
Similar to Hallow’s End and Midsummer Fire Festival events, there’s a daily boss, Coren Direbrew, accessible through the dungeon finder system. This boss has been tailored for level 80 players, but he doesn’t pose much of a challenge even for newly-leveled 80 players who might still be wearing green gear.
Daily, there’s an opportunity to obtain a Barrel-like Reward Chest filled with Brewfest Prize Tokens, with a possibility of also receiving one of the Brewfest Mounts and Brewfest Armor customizations for the Renewed Proto-Drake.
Tapping of the Keg Ceremony
At 6 AM and 6 PM server time each day, a unique occurrence takes place right in the heart of the festival. This occasion grants you a two-hour period where your Experience Points (EXP) increase by 10% during this timeframe.
Occasionally, the beginning of an event gets postponed. Therefore, don’t be taken aback if it doesn’t commence before 6:15 PM.
All Brewfest Rewards
It wouldn’t be a holiday event in World of Warcraft if there weren’t some kind of rewards to obtain. For the most part, rewards are entirely cosmetic (excluding the trinkets that drop from Coren Direbrew) and are purchased from a Token Redeemer at Brewfest. Every year there is a new item or two added to the event, and for 2024 the new item is Homebrewer’s Sampling Mantle.
