As a seasoned World of Warcraft player with over a decade under my belt, I can confidently say that these in-game currencies have played a significant role in my adventures across Azeroth. Whether it’s the time-honored Honor points or the new Slaughter Coins, each one offers a unique flavor of PvP action and rewards.

It’s important to stockpile gold in every version of World of Warcraft to buy training, gear, and other resources, but there are other currencies that players also need to collect. Season of Discovery added a few extra items that players can trade for valuable gear, along with keeping a few of the old ones from the Classic version of the game.

Individuals who have experience in playing Classic World of Warcraft are already conversant with the Player vs Player (PvP) Honor system and the uncommon loots that can be exchanged with specific Non-Player Characters (NPCs) for exclusive items. Additionally, players can utilize certain items to enhance their standing with particular factions, thereby unlocking dungeons, raids, and additional inventory items.

In Undermine Real, it’s noted that the coin in question may no longer be in circulation following Phase 4. Therefore, players are advised to gather as many of these coins as possible before then. You can find these coins by defeating bosses and mini-bosses within high-level dungeons. So when you see a chat message saying “Looking for Group (LFG) real runs,” this refers to group activities aimed at obtaining these coins.

Few instances of the ‘Tarnished Undermine Real’ are obtained from each boss encounter, making it feasible for a group to farm several hundred if they coordinate well. The vendor who accepts these is ‘Pix Xizzix’, a goblin situated close to the Auctioneer in Booty Bay. She stocks various gear, trinkets, jewelry, and patterns, but her items generally cost 50 Real or more.

5 Scourgestones

A Classic From The Early Days

Prior to the unveiling of Ahn’Qiraj in southern Silithus during the endgame of Classic World of Warcraft, players had the Plaguelands as their main focus. This expansive area spanned across two zones within the Eastern Kingdoms and featured notable dungeons such as Scholomance, Stratholme, and the floating Naxxramas raid site. Gaining entry to these locations relied on a player’s standing with the Argent Dawn faction, which could be improved by collecting and delivering Scourgestones.

In the Plaguelands, three kinds of Scourgestones are obtained from various enemies based on their difficulty level. Common and mid-level enemies yield either Minion or Invader Stones, while elite bosses drop Corruptor’s Scourgestones. By exchanging these stones with the NPC marked with a blue checkmark, players receive an Argent Dawn Valor Token, which helps increase their standing with the Argent Dawn faction.

Increasing the number of repetitions you do (reps) allows you to purchase more goods from the Argent Dawn vendor, such as consumables, patterns, accessories, and crucial items for dungeons and raids. Reaching Exalted rank with them makes it simpler to gain entry into Naxxramas, a location anticipated in Phase 6.

4 Atal’ai Ritual Token

Trade For High-Level Gear

In this game, these tokens are some that players don’t need to save up. The Sunken Temple, which was previously a location, is now a raid featuring eight bosses. Each boss in this raid has a tendency to drop an Atal’ai Ritual Token, and often more than one due to fights involving multiple opponents. Even in groups of 20 players, the high volume of token drops ensures that everyone has a reasonable chance of obtaining one.

The merchant who trades Atal’ai Tokens is named Zalgo the Explorer, and he can be found within an instance. So, exchanging these tokens could potentially be the most challenging aspect of this task. Moreover, he offers a limited selection of items tailored for particular classes, but they boast impressive stats for players who are yet to engage in raids.

3 Marks Of Honor

The Standard PvP Currency

Found In: Battlegrounds and PvP Events
Redeemed At: The Valley of Strength in Orgrimmar or Old Town in Stormwind

In World of Warcraft (WoW), there are several ways to accumulate Honor points during Player versus Player (PvP) activities, and the Season of Discovery offers a variety of possibilities for these events. Battlegrounds remain a common method for earning Honor, with one special battleground each weekend providing additional points as a bonus. Additionally, open-world PvP grants Honor based on the opponent’s character level.

In these battlegrounds – Arathi Basin, Warsong Gulch, and Alterac Valley – players have the option to exchange Marks of Honor. Doing so can boost their standing with both factions, which in turn provides access to a more diverse selection of items from either the Horde or Alliance Vendor. A higher reputation level means better choices!

2 Slaughter Coins

Blood For The Blood God

Redeemed At: Mai’zin, The Gurubashi Bloodchanger

In the Blood Moon World PvP event, a fresh currency called the Blood Moon Coins, previously known as Massacre Coins, are given out to those who participate. These coins, now referred to as Slaughter Coins, in Phase 4, exist in three forms: bronze, silver, and gold. The more valuable the coin, the greater the rewards you can trade it for.

The only vendor for these coins is located in the heart of the action, Gurubashi Arena, a famous PvP and dueling location in Stranglethorn Vale. He’s a troll named Mai’zin and some of the new epic Phase 4 rings can be found in his inventory, along with some other impressive weapons and other bits of gear.

Whenever I step into this corner of Azeroth when there’s no active event, I always tread carefully due to its notorious Player vs Player (PvP) activity. During an event, be aware that one of the powerful Loa resides here and has a broad zone of attack. Stay vigilant, my friend!

1 Darkmoon Prize Tickets

In the ancient times of Azeroth, there’s been a unique form of currency known as Darkmoon Faire Prize Tickets. These tickets are exclusively obtainable and exchangeable at a single location, the roving event called the Darkmoon Faire. This transient festival appears just once a month, migrating between Mulgore and Elwynn Forest.

At the Faire, you can gather tickets in numerous ways and boost your standing within a faction. Many players typically begin by completing the recurring tasks assigned by the eclectic group of carnival workers. While you can purchase toys, food, and novelty items like any other carnival, most players are interested in obtaining the Darkmoon Faire card decks. These cards can serve as potent accessories or initiate lengthy, challenging quest chains for higher-level players.
