A message on the test servers for World of Warcraft indicates the “Midnight” update will be released before January 27th. Players might be able to try out new features like Housing Neighborhoods and the Devourer Demon Hunter as soon as January 20th.
Okay, so I’m super hyped because World of Warcraft: Midnight is coming out early next year! But before that, we’re getting Patch 11.2.7 on December 2nd. It’s a big one – we’re finally getting player housing, plus a sneak peek at the Midnight story. Apparently, it’s going to be the last major update for The War Within before the expansion drops, which is wild! I can’t wait to start decorating my place and see what’s coming in Midnight.
World of Warcraft: Midnight Pre-Patch Likely Arriving January 20
Even before the update is released, fans have found information about when the first World of Warcraft: Midnight update is expected. Recent data discovered on the game’s test servers suggests the “Twilight Ascension” pre-patch event will start on January 27th. Considering previous expansions, where pre-patch events usually followed the update by a week, it’s likely the 12.0 pre-patch will be available around January 20th.

If the information is accurate, the update on January 20th will introduce Neighborhood Endeavors to World of Warcraft’s player housing feature. Demon Hunters will also gain access to the Devourer specialization and the Void Elf race, along with a questline that explains these additions. This update will also include the significant class changes coming with World of Warcraft: Midnight. Then, on January 27th, the Twilight Ascension pre-patch event will begin, pitting players against the Twilight’s Blade – a revamped version of the Twilight’s Hammer now aligned with Xal’atath.
Recent discoveries confirm earlier rumors about when Midnight will launch. A World of Warcraft event running from January 27th to March 9th has been found, and it likely marks the start of the Twilight Ascension pre-patch. Plus, World of Warcraft: Legion Remix is scheduled to end on January 19th, allowing players to move seamlessly from one event to the next with minimal interruption.
Based on current information, the full Midnight release is expected around March 10th, although some reports suggest it could launch as early as February 26th for World of Warcraft. Either way, the release is coming soon! Fans who want to start playing sooner can pre-order the World of Warcraft: Midnight Epic Edition to get three days of early access, regardless of the final release date.
